I read about the 7lb in 7 days programme on this thread about 18 months ago and gave it a whirl - sho'nuff was 7lb lighter at the end of the week.

Anyone still doing it, or done it recently?

Yes, it's fantastic, isn't it? I've never felt so well in my life, although I tried to do 2 weeks and failed miserably. Am planning another "partial" week next week - juice for breakfast, lunch and mid-afternoon, healthy evening meal with the family, and an innocent smoothie in the evening. I find I can lose 4-5 lbs this way and still keep some sort of family life going.

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2010 21:40

oh that sounds like a good way of dong it. I tend to be a bit all or nothing - started it today as have been flu'ed up last few days with no appetite, so I thought what better time? Plus my body could probably do with the high-voltage nutrient slam. I do find the book sooooo irritating though, I wouldn't ever want to meet him in RL, it's excruciating.

Yes, I bet he's one of those bouncy, smily people you don't want to bump into first thing in the morning! Good luck with it - I'm sure you'll be feeling much better very quickly. Keep posting on here, as I'm going to start again on Monday so can keep you company!

tartyhighheels · 20/03/2010 22:38

actually he is one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet and super charismatic

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2010 22:51

Oh sorry tarty must be the way the book is edited. Makes for a very irritating read, what with every mortal thing being prefaced with the word 'juicy'.

yes surprise, will see you here on Monday. Enjoy your Sunday roast tomorrow!

Hi again ltec. How's it been for you today? I had super juice for breakfst, turbo express for lunch, a banana mid-afternoon then quorn and pasta for tea. Feeling a bit peckish already, so an Innocent smoothie and early night for me I think! Am also wearing a pedometer every day, trying to do around 7500 steps (3 miles) a day. Have done 6500 so far.

LetThemEatCake · 22/03/2010 19:50

hello hello! well, I have to say that, just like last time, I'm not hungry at all. My mouth is hungry, but tummy isn't. And the weight is falling off already My horrible sore throat has also been chased away and I feel a million times better than I did at the end of last week.

This day 3, so I was able to have the Passion4 - must admit that the banana & yoghurt combo felt positively decadent!

have also been having a small handful of almonds each day as am bfing my nearly-6mo and figure I need the protein.

It is a faff what with all the chopping/ cleaning the juicer though, esp with 3 dcs clinging to you!

I love the juicemaster! Lost over a stone using his books and now dh also hooked on his smoothies. Pregnant at the moment but still having a juice a day along with a normal lunch, but will turn to 7lbs in 7 days when the time comes to shed this baby weight. Wish I could run off and do one of his detox weeks in Turkey - would be divine!

Keep up the good work girls!

Surprise · 23/03/2010 15:39

How's it going today everyone? I've had superjuice for breakfast, then a green salad for lunch. 2 kiwi fruit this afternoon and then quorn and veg for tea tonight. I'm not doing the full-on juicing as I did that 2 weeks ago and think it's probably not sensible to do it too often. But hoping to lose 4 lbs this week by doing this. Am getting married in 10 weeks time and def want to lose a stone by then. In fact, I'd like to lose it in 8 weeks then I'll have time to find something to wear!

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 17:01

rein me in ladies .. my impossibly sweet tooth saw me adding a handful of raisins to my handful of almonds today

I blame it on bfing .. it really makes me crave sugar (was choc digestives and tea with milk & 2 when I had dc1 )

Have got a little smidge of honey in my herbal tea too .. am I a hopeless case??

my jeans are hanging off me though.. there's light at the end of the juicer ...

congrats to both of you on your exciting things to look forward to - new babies and weddings, awesome

Are you sure it's ok to eat so little while bfing LTEC? You are absolutely NOT hopeless - you're doing brilliantly. A few raisins and honey isn't going to make any difference. I think once your clothes start to feel too big it really spurs you on. Good luck for tomorrow... I'm on the verge of a little something to nibble on, so think I might dig into a few raisins now too!

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 18:55

how was it today Surprise? I think I'm going to have some steamed veggies tonight ... I'm not hungry but I'm cranky and also, I'd forgotten about the complete lack of, ahem, bowel movement that comes with this plan. It doesn't feel right!! I think I was using psyllium husk last time ... anyway, I feel like I need some roughage. Do you think that's okay?

OP posts:
Surprise · 24/03/2010 19:28

I should - I'm sure it won't affect your weight loss. You could try dried prunes too as I think they, ahem, do the trick. I've managed to do 9000 steps today, and have also danced to 3 songs that came on the radio (so glad there was no one here to see ). Onward and upward, or indeed downward in terms of pounds!

toucancancan · 24/03/2010 19:52

I've been thinking about doing this diet, but do you find you pile the weight on straight away once you start to eat normally again?

Surprise · 24/03/2010 21:01

toucan - the idea is to do the diet for the first week, then try to stick to the principles of a "juicy lifestyle". Basically to combine juicing with exercise and lots of nourishing fruit and veg. The idea behind it is to basically get rid of your cravings for sugary/fatty/junk food so that you make healthier choices.

I have to say that while on the 7lbs in 7 days diet I have never felt better or had more energy. It really is quite amazing. I would highly recommend it, but would say that you need to read the book (get it from the library as it won't take long to read) as it gives you all the reasons to help motivate you and also all the recipes you will need.

LetThemEatCake · 25/03/2010 08:35

I second what Surprise has said - it really does strip you of cravings and enable you to go on in a healthier manner, losing weight in the process. And of course, the rapid initial weight loss is a great incentive to continue, far more so than a week of dieting followed by a 1lb loss ...

Also, I first did this plan when I was at the lower end of my normal weight and it still worked, which leads me to think that the loss was largely genuine (you know how bigger people tend to have larger initial losses? So if I'd been bigger, I might have attributed the 7lb loss to that .. but I was actually very slim at the time)

Oh, and the weight stayed off ... until I got pregnant again!!

give it go. He says lots of irritating things in the book but one thing that I quite like is where he says that if David Blaine announced that he was going to have nothing but juices for 7 days, no one would pay any attention cos they'd think "yeah? so? anyone can do that". Which is true - anyone can, therefore so can you :-)

He has a point!

Okay, I'm on day 6. Good luck today ladies.

Thanks for advice. I saw Jason Vale on the Wright Stuff about three years ago. I think he helped Katie Price loose weight after she had Princess. Anyway, the diet looked good, and I vowed to get the book, just never got round to it... but you've given me the incentive.
