I really need to get my fitness levels back up and tone up my saggy body .

I am going to start the couch to 5k challenge I think once I have the all clear from my doc (had an operation last month), but also wanted to get a DVD or two to do at home. I fancy something fun like a dancy kind maybe? And maybe a relaxing one like pilate? But all recommendations welcome including more 'work out' kinds.

I do one dvd called essential soloman yogalates (there is a website on the back, cant do links?! www.yogalates.co.uk OR .com.au) its very relaxing and I have been going to a local pilates class once a week for an hour also since last october. I Cant recommend either of them enough, its gentle exercise and if you enjoy and stick with it its really good results (my baby belly has really started to go after 10 months but more than that I find it helps me use all the muscles that get forgotten about when your busy rushing around.) A friend of mine does a pilates class via youtube!! she swears by it, will try and get the actual video she uses n post again soon as poss.

I have searched and searched for a decent dance fitness dvd and have never found one, if you do please let me know! At the moment I use:

Tae Bo will make you sweat, and will also really make your abs work at the same time.

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred is really short; 3 different routines, each only 25 minutes long including warm up and cool down, and combines strength and aerobic training.

All of Davina's are normally a good bet as they concentrate on interval training, I find her really annoying though, but the routines are effective.

Thank you both so much for these recommendations, and sorry I am only just returning to the thread I started!

I will check all of these out. I do quite fancy a pilates one as a relaxation activiity as well as excercise. I do need a good workout one or two as well though! I have heard the 30 day shred one mentioned on here before but I am concerned I would no be fit enough to do it as it sounds quite tough going??

Don't worry, you can make it as hard as you like. The first time you could go through it without weights, and with exercises like lunges and squats then the lower you go the harder it is, so you can control the intensity. And it's so short, by the time you feel you're going to die then you're nearly finished!

Pilates for dummies - was very cheap on Amazon and it's brilliant, gentle enough to start you off but v.good.
I did it when I started running - I did go from nothing to 5K and further.

I've doing the Tracy Anderson Mat Workout now - it's barking mad, lacks instructions, but funnily enough works for me and I love it. It's quite a bizarre one, though, so not sure I could safely recommend it.
