It was my plan to never diet again as when I last did WW I lost 10lb and pretty much put it straight back on again once I stopped counting.
So, 2 children later my plan of eating less and moving more is not exactly working. My next plan is to keep a food diary for a week to see how many points I am actually eating each day, where the rubbish/unnecessary consumption is occuring.

My question (finally ) is how many points should you eat daily to maintain weight? (ie 2000kcals) and if my diet point total is 20 points, how many Kcals is that?

Hope this all makes sense, I am keen to lose about 10lbs again.

IIRC it depends on your current weight, something like 10-12 stone is 20 points a day, 8-10 stone is 18 points a day (can't quite remember)

And points are not calculated on calories alone, sat fat is taken into account too

Do you not have you books and stuff from last time?

No, I gave them all away. I have kept the points calculator thing (cardboard)

WW cleverly muddied the link between points and calories - probably so that they can keep people hooked on point-counting and coming back to meetings!!

Having done both (calories and points) I'd really recommend you stick with the calorie-counting. If you're only 10lbs overweight and if you're reasonably active you should be able to start losing on 1300-1400 cals a day. WW point allocations often result in people accidentally undereating... and then weight-loss becomes a terrible old grind and regaining the weight lost becomes more likely.

A good place for keeping a food diary is on a free site called www.caloriecount.com. They have a massive database of foods and calories so it makes keeping track really easy

Plus3, my maintenance points is 24, I think - can you tell how closely I'm monitoring it? - it was deffo 18 to lose the weight, but it depends on your weight and how active your day is, etc.

Thanks everyone...well I logged everything I ate yesterday and it came in at a whopping 42 points ....

I think I may be addicted to snacking on sugary things...

Think I will continue by looking at caloriecount, and try to avoid the incessant nibbling!
