I think they're all pretty bad, personally. The salt content tends to be quite high, I find. Also, they may be low-calorie but they also tend to be 'low size'... so you can feel really hungry quite quickly after eating one.

My preference is to make bigger amounts of genuinely healthy dishes that freeze well e.g. Chilli Con Carne and then invest in a few of those plastic tubs. Portion it up and then there's a good low-cal stand-by for when I don't have so much time.

I do eat normal food as well! just wanted some recommendations for those meals that just wont conform- or when it is just me grabbing something after my evening shift!

The only one I like is the Tesco Light choices chicken and broccoli pie. Its ok flavour wise and the portion size is not too tiny. I keep onein the freezer for emergencies only!

None of them are that inspiring but I have a good stock of them too. I like the chinese type ones more like sweet and sour chicken, weight watchers salmon and brocolli bake is ok. errrr I do eat loads of these but struggling to think up what I like - doesn't bode well does it. the other thing I have is some ready meals which are not marked lighter but are still under 500 calories - roasts by birds eye or tescos linguine with prawns I think - might be a finest. I recently discovered quite a nice beef stew and a hot pot which maybe have been weight watchers or Tescos light choices -

blondes is the guru of micro meals

not sure i should admit that

but sometimes i am home at 8pm,knackered and just want an easy meal, so i bung a micromeal in,chop some brocolli and add small tin of sweetcorn and boil for 4mins for a quick easy meal

tescos chicken+brocolli pie has no taste - the potato is bland, sauce is rank!!

ww chicken curry, salmon+pot wedges, chicken, tomarto+spinach lasagne, beef casserole and tesco lighter bites sweet chilli noodles, and chicken pasta bake are all yummy

ww spag bol, fish pie, lasagne, sauasgae+mash are yuk

These frozen ready meals from COOK are really delicious - all hand prepared with no additives and preservatives etc. They have a range they call 'guilt-free' which means they all have less than 20% of the guideline daily allowance of calories and fat: www.cookfood.net/menu/guilt-free-meals/ But they're not an intentionally 'lighter' range so they all taste delicious..And because they're frozen ready meals they are portion controlled and you can keep a stock in the freezer for when you can't be bothered to cook...they have lots of shops but also deliver nationwide online. win win.
