Simply Fuller Longer

Has anyone heard of the new M&S Simply Fuller Longer range? I think the advertising makes people think it is a low carb diet but it isn't by the looks of things because the foods are not particularly low carb.

It's just another marketing lie! The food is supposed to have a high glycemic thing so that the energy is released slowly so you don't get sugar rushes and lows. This might be true but at the end of the day (I hate using that phrase) it's all just portion control and very expensive for what you get. Look at the packaging of all the ready meals in the different supermarkets and you'll find most only have 500 to 600 calories in them. Some of the weightwatchers meals have more calories per hundred grams than the supermarket equivalent. Also look out for the ones that say they are low fat because they are generally "full of crap".

The M&S range has extra protein added to bring down the GI of the dish, but that's not the same thing as saying 'low carb'.

You can create much nicer dishes to keep you full for longer (and for a lot cheaper than M&S) if you balance out protein, fat and slow-release carbohydrates plus plenty of vegetables.

Low-carb is very 'last decade' and has run its course..... 'Smart carb' is the intelligent way forward for people looking for a satisfying and nourishing diet.

I haven't heard of the term "smart carb" before.

I did wonder that it didn't seem to be what it markets itself as.

Maybe its just me but I sometimes find those low fat meals are so small that no wonder they are low fat as they don't fill you up! Thankfully I don't have that problem with Go Lower.
