Hi,
I recently started a new diet with golower, just wondered if anyone else was on this to share tips, advise and support?
Thanks
Simmo39

You sound busy simmo. Brill news on DH new job. Hope you enjoy your G&T's to celebrate. So far I've managed to stay off alcohol since being on Go Lower.
What did you eat from the Chinese takeaway out of interest? I'm never really sure what I can have and what I can't with all the sauces etc on everything.
Bless, you have a lovely MIL.

simmo39 · 27/02/2010 20:33

Had a yummy chinese! Spare ribs to start followed by spicy prawns (shell on no sauce)and chicken satay but no sauce. Also had a portion of garlic mange too which had a nice runny sauce and helped prevent the rest of the food being a bit dry. It was soooo nice and although everyone else had rice and noodles it didn't bother me as I know I can still enjoy a take away and still loose weight.
Wish I'd found this diet or rather way of eating years ago, maybe I wouldn't be as big as I am now!
You mention you have been on Go Lower a while now, how do you manage when you eat out?

OP posts:
mummymels · 01/03/2010 22:27

To be honest I have tried to avoid eating out as much as I can so it has only been a handful of times as I really don't want to break the diet too much. On the few occasions I have eaten out I've just had something meaty with no sauce and vegetables.

mummymels · 11/03/2010 21:35

How are my Go Lower buddies doing?!

simmo39 · 12/03/2010 22:32

still going strong, 27 1/2 lbs in 7 weeks. Am very impressed with the diet, nice to have such amazing results

OP posts:
brimfull · 12/03/2010 22:35

crap here
have stalled for the last month
don't know what I am doing wrong
not too impressed with it actually
would have been better doing it myself as I don't eat the breakfsts
i am now in transition phase apparently
should have lost over 2 stone by now
have lost 18/19lbs

simmo39 · 15/03/2010 20:43

Sorry to hear you have stalled, did you try speaking to one of the counsellors?

OP posts:
mummymels · 19/03/2010 02:59

You are doing brilliantly simmo (I know I said that on the other thread too!) How are you feeling in yourself? I am finding I have so much more energy these days and feel happier in myself.

ggirl, do you have a lot to lose? Maybe if you don't have a lot to lose it comes off slower. I had loads to lose and had been eating so much rubbish before that I think if you suddenly stop that and start a proper diet then it will fall off quicker.

mummymels · 14/04/2010 23:01

How's everyone doing?

simmo39 · 15/04/2010 21:59

Hi Mummymels, good to hear from you. Its going OK, last week I was very naughty but it was my 40th birthday. I put on a pound, surprised it wasn't more, but I am straight back on track. With other diets in the past once I fall off the wagon that is it, but this time I have got straight back into it.

How are you getting on? Have you much left to go now?

OP posts:
mummymels · 16/04/2010 01:24

Happy belated birthday simmo39. I hope you had lots of fun celebrations. You have to be naughty when you have a special birthday or any birthday for that matter!

That's great that you only put a pound on though and have got back into it.

I seem to have stopped around the 64.5 lb mark. My loss has really slowed down but so I have started to make my own meals now in that the change will help lose my last little bit.

simmo39 · 16/04/2010 21:16

How are you finding making your own food again? Are you continuing to LC or have you increased your carb intake?

OP posts:
mummymels · 21/04/2010 22:13

Yes I am continuing to low carb. I have been using the Go Lower forums and speaking to the nutitionists to get ideas. At the moment I haven't really been too adventrous yet but I will get there!

How are you finding things?

simmo39 · 21/04/2010 22:31

Yes really good thanks, still eating all the GoLower meals and occassionally have something of my own. Nothing too exciting, usually grilled meat and salad or veg, maybe a cauliflower cheese. Last couple of weeks have slowed down but I had a naughty week so that is probably why.
Feel like I have definitely lost this week, clothes are feeling loose again. Can really notice it on my tummy now, which is brilliant as that used to get me down, and I was very concious of. Just over 2 1/2 stone left to go, I can't believe how fabulous this diet really is!!!

OP posts:
mummymels · 22/04/2010 22:34

I know, I can't believe I have found a diet I can stick to and not feel like it is a chore. That's great that you are starting to lose again after a naughty week.

amazonianwoman · 24/04/2010 21:10

Hello all

Seriously thinking about starting this asap. I lost 19lbs last year with WW. Put it all back on.

Then lost 9.5lbs earlier this year (low carb). And already put it back on.

Just found out today we're going to a family baptism abroad in 8 weeks - the foreign side of the family are all super slim & gorgeous. I'd love to actually be able to wear something nice & new that I really like, rather than something horrid that just fits. I feel like the fat old frumpy aunt

So, thinking I could start this week and hopefully lose 2 stone by then. Probably have at least 3 stone to lose in total, but 2 stone would get me back to my wedding day weight, which was 'acceptable'

Can I pay upfront for 8 weeks? What do you get for breakfasts? Am I allowed any alcohol at all?!

TIA

mummymels · 27/04/2010 21:31

Hiya, yes you can pay upfront. For breakfast you get granola and you can either have it on its own or with Greek yoghurt and / or berries. It's nice with raspberries. To be honest I don't really drink so I'm not entirely sure about the alcohol but I think you can have a small amount of some drinks. Also because I am doing the diet already if you want to give my name then you can get 10% off your order too which is helpful.

simmo39 · 27/04/2010 21:38

Hi Amazonianwoman,

I think 2 stone in 8 weeks is definitely achievable. I suggest you contact golower by phone, they can discuss the payment options with you.

If you give them my name - Simmo39 - they will give you 10% off as they operate a referal discount if you are recommended to them.

In the detox period you usually have the golower granola cereal and can add a handful of berries (strawberries or raspberries are nice) and some greek yogurt. You can have the odd glass of wine but again not in the detox period. Check out their website at www.golower.com for more info and for the telephone number.

Best of luck and let me know how you get on!!!!! I am sure you will be just as gorgeous as the rest of your family

amazonianwoman · 27/04/2010 22:09

Signed up yesterday, stuff arrived today, starting tomorrow

Thanks for the 10% discount offers, but paid already.

Everything in the box looks fine, apart from the pork crackling smoky bacon crisp things - tried a packet and hated them, have already asked to swap them out next month!

Wish me luck...

simmo39 · 27/04/2010 22:16

Ah thats a shame sorry! Up to you if you want to still try for the discount. Best of luck and let us know how you get on

OP posts:
mummymels · 30/04/2010 17:53

Good luck amazonianwoman.

becs23 · 23/05/2011 14:42

Hi Ladies,

I'm serioulsy considering the GoLower diet. I spoke to a consultant today and she suggested that I go on and look at some forums and review sites. Really good to hear that you're getting on so well, this feed had definitely given me some inspiration, you've all done so well!

Did you all sign up for a full programme? I've been told there's no trial period or anything, so I'm being encouraged to sign up for a 20 week programme which is £1200 so I have reservations as it's quite a lot of money.

Bec23 - you have revived an old thread so unlikely these posters will see it - might be better to PM them.
