If you speak to your doctor, he can prescribe Xenical which is double the stength of Alli. (Or you could take two Alli at a time, but I would speak to the doc before doing that).

I can but they are not ahealthy choice. Like chillo says, you should see your Dr, the over the counter Alli is not the same as the Alli you can get from your GP. In the long run - changing your eating habits will help more than appetite suppressants will.

i did get xenical from my doctors when the alli ran out and i kept stoppping and starting them untill they were all gone so it was a waste

My dad saw an acupressure person 15 years ago as he really has the same problem plus he eats when he is feeling down and then feels bad about eating, so it was a never ending cycle. He had a really small ball bearing taped onto his ear and when he felt the desire to eat he massaged it and it suppressed the feeling. Now it may be partly psychosomatic but it's based upon the same principles as acupuncture. I'm not sure how it worked but it definitely helped my Dad at the time and it helped him to control and lose weight. You can search the net for a registered acupressure practitioner close to you. May be worth a try.x

Xenical isnt an appetite suppressant, just makes you 'dispose of' some of the fat content in the food you eat.

Best thing, if you want to control hunger pangs, is try a low gi diet. I never got on with it myself, but if you do it right it helps keep hunger at bay as it helps to maintain blood sugar levels.

Or just try to eat more bulky low fat food which will make you feel fuller for longer. Or drink diet coke (the bubbles make you feel full up but virtually no calories!)

I was on xenical for years, long term it didnt really work (for me) and did nothing to suppress my appetite (just the risk of side effects was enough to make me eat sensibly!)

Its well worth a chat with your gp. I am sure they can suggest something. Or even your pharmacy.

the best thing and easiest approach is to just eat much much slower.

appetite suppressants are not the answer! Diets are not the answer either! drink when you feel hungry water, that is) At parties, stay away from the buffet table, stay on the other side of the room. Eat before you go out so you aren't tempted.
