I have tried (religiously) ww and rosemary conley with limited success. Has anyone done slimming world and can summarize the rules or recommend another diet please

hmmm cant see me eating blindfolded to be honest, would feel stupid.

I guess it just has to be a new habit, to not evereat. Gotta knock the old habits on the head.

was thinking of doing some crossstitch or something in the evenings to stop my fingers from nibbling

Gingernutlover - I generally eat weightwatchers brown bread, but love white bread or granary bread.

I go to Slimming World - yes you can eat loads but it's not overeating. Overeating is consuming too many calories. If you do that you will gain weight not lose it. But if you are chosing the right kinds of food you can eat big quanities of it. So SW is really great at teaching you to alter your diet for life. Rather than being hypnotised, or having milkshakes etc. I didn't like WW as I could still eat unhealthily even though it was within my points.

With SW, on the Extra Easy plan you can eat, in unlimited quantities fruit, veg, lean meat and poultry, pasta, rice, potatoes, starchy veg.

Then you measure other things like milk/cheese, bread, cereal etc.

Then on top of that you can have "syns". Can use them on choc/wine/crips/mayo/gravy etc - whatever you want.

I love the group I go to - they are all so friendly and supportive. There is no judgement at all. I don't think I could do it without my group. I lost 2st 8lbs and am now 36 weeks pregnant and can still go to group every week to keep an eye on it. Only gained 1st 8lbs so far which I'm chuffed about.

Go to a group - they are brilliant. It's the hardest thing to walk through that door and ask for help - but it's the best thing you'll ever do!

I lost 2 1/2 stone on sw over about 8 months. Have struggled but kept most of it off for a year until summer hols 2009. Then fell off the wagon and have put a stone back on.

I don't think SW dealt with or helped with my tendancy to have too big a portion of everything. I can have unlimited pasta on it and will eat huge bowlfuls.

I'm just starting a calorie counting thing on foodfocus.co.uk to try and get the stone off. Am hoping that it will make me more mindful of portion control so that I can keep the weight off this time.
