Nice Soup 'diet'...who wants to join me?

I watched a programme a few months back and on it they did tests on people who ate soup. Apparently because of the way it's made with the water content, it stays in your stomach longer and leaves you full...for longer.

I make homemade soup a lot anyway for friends and my family. So the last couple of days I've been trying to eat more of it myself with a chunk of wholesome bread, either granary or spelt and rye or suchlike.

My main weight problem, apart from being a stone or two overweight, is my tummy area, it really sticks out. Since starting this change in my diet it has gone down a fair bit although needs to go down more. Another bonus is soup is so good for you and easy to digest. And there are so many different types so you don't need to get bored.

I've also been swapping at least half of my cuppas for cups of hot water or fruit teas.

Does anyone fancy joining me in this change of diet and putting their results on here? If you don't have time or don't like cooking then there's lots of nice bought soup you can buy...or get a friend to make you some

The last soup I made was so simple, it had leeks rice carrots lentils celery and some seasoning in it. If anyone wants the recipe I'll post it.

Plus if you have a nice soup recipe, preferably easy and freezable, then please share.

I hope someone will join me as I'd love to know it's working for others.

I say couple of days it's actually more like a week...it's not that miraculous to work that fast

Oh and you still eat a main meal and breakfast this is more for lunch or dinner plus a main meal. But I don't suppose it'd matter if you were having it as a main as long as it was balanced? Lentil soup with wholemeal bread is a good combination for a main meal.

I used to diet with only soup and bread. Toast for breakfast, soup and bread for dinner and lunch, lots of nuts and fruit for snacks. It only worked, I noticed, if there was a fair bit of walking/exercise as well, but then it worked very well. Too many nuts inhibited weightloss, but I couldn't do without them.
