Let's lose a stone together

I looked in the mirror this morning, and realised that I could no longer blame "baby weight" for my baggy tummy as my 7 month old sat gooing at me. So, I want to lose a stone. Gone are the days for crash dieting for me, and this time it's for ever. So anyone want to join me, so we can support, and encouragement along the way?

Hiya and welcome to dizzydo. I'm allowing myself 1000 calories a day. I think the 7lb loss this week, will slow rapidly next and all the following weeks!! I'm not trying to do it really fast - this time it's for life!!!

Hi second weigh and I've lost another 3llbs so thats 7lbs in two weeks Hooray!

PandaBear · 01/07/2005 12:35

Excellent - well done Highlight. You obviously are really motivated at the moment!! Hope I can keep going, my motivation is waning at the mo, I'm sat by an open window in the office and the pub underneath is cooking what smells like Sausages in onion gravy - my Ryvitas, just don't seem appealing after that one!!!

PandaBear - close the window immediately

Great weightloss Highlight. I think I heard at WW that ten pounds is equal to a dress size!

dizzydo · 01/07/2005 13:12

Highlight, which diet are you doing?

dizzydo · 01/07/2005 13:14

just looked at my previous post which doesnt really make sense. What I meant to say was Highlight if you lose another 3 next week you'll be down as dress size.

dizzydo · 04/07/2005 22:36

Hi, weigh-in tonight (week 4) lost 1.5lb (total 5.5lbs) have honestly not felt hungry and have not deprived myself of my glass of wine (or three). Quite pleased.

Hope all the diets are going well this weekd

jambo1707 · 04/07/2005 23:24

Hi all, back from my hols, put on 3 lbs - not too bad considering I had a lovely time!

Weigh in Tues.

dizzydo · 12/07/2005 11:27

Where is everyone??

Lost 2.5lbs this week - 5.5 to go!

lemonice · 13/07/2005 08:59

Hi

I am having a bit of a slow start, I can see it's going to take me ages. I think I've lost about 2lbs but have yet to really feel I've got going.

I have had a haircut which was long overdue and will get me a step nearer to going swimming.

I'm also introducing slimfast as that seems the only thing which actually gets the weight off me, because I find it a discipline.

The other thing I have to cut out is wine or in this hot weather the temptation to have an ice cold beer.

How are you all doing?

charleepeters · 13/07/2005 09:02

I will join you but i fear i may be up the spout so no tummy excersises for me

so whats the plan girls??

dizzydo · 13/07/2005 10:16

Charleepeters, are you pleased or not??

lemonice i have to say that I have not given up my glass of wine (or 2) each night. I think there are some things that going without just makes it too miserable to stick to. I have given up bread tho which I havent really missed and which I think has made an enormous difference to the size of my stomach. I am doing No Count WW so mainly loads of veg and fruit as snacks and meals, 3 meals a day, lean meat, chicken, fish and that's about it. I know what you mean about getting into it tho. What are those slimfast shakes like?? I have always thought they are probably pretty disgusting but have never tried one. Do they really fill you up.

charleepeters · 13/07/2005 10:21

Yep i am - i was hoping to loose wiegt before i fell pg again but oh well! i have a history of blood clots and being over wieght doesnt help i stil weight 10 1/2 stone from my last pg

lemonice · 13/07/2005 10:27

Hi The slimfast shakes are OK but rather sweet tasting for my liking, but they must have something in them that does make you more satisfied than you would expect.

I vow not to use them and follow a sensible ordinary diet, but the trouble is that my diet is quite sensible, I don't eat chocolate or sweets, biscuits, puddings or cakes, rarely crisps. However, I have had more than 6 months without a kitchen and eaten too much processed food. But i think it's my lack of exercise combined with having more than a glass or two of wine that is the real problem and a generally sluggish metabolism.

I have used the Slimfast shakes twice before, the last time was in 1993 when I lost a lot of weight but I now weigh more than I have ever done and being older it is going to be hard to shift.

I am determined to get into it this time though even if it takes a few weeks. From past experience once the weight starts going it is easier to find the motivation.

Good Luck to everyone this week.

PandaBear · 14/07/2005 08:49

Hi All - I've been a bad girl!!! For the past week or so, my diet has totally gone out of the window - had my birthday last Tuesday, followed by a party on Sunday - needless to say lots of crap has passed my lips. But..... I've said it before, I know, I'm going to start again today. Well done to all of you who are managing to lose weight. Hopefully, I'll be back on the right tracks too.

As for Slimfast, I really don't like it - it is really sickly sweet. But whatever works for you!!

dizzydo · 15/07/2005 12:40

How are you all doing. I am starving today. Have just eaten a smoked mackrel and hard boiled egg salad but would far rather have skipped that and had a magnum. (seven points so better not could have a whole bottle of wine for that!) Any ideas for something deliciously scrummy and not too sinful??

lemonice · 15/07/2005 12:55

Have just polished off dgs lunch as he was rather tired and didn't eat much, although he was never going to have eaten it all himself anyway.

I can't work out whether I'm entitled to anything of my own now...

dizzydo · 15/07/2005 13:07

Lemonice - I had to read your post twice I thought you said I have just polished off the dogs lunch. LOL I was thinking I'm not that desperate for something to eat!

PandaBear · 15/07/2005 13:23

Hiya, Well I've been good since yesterday. I'm typing this as I eat my ryvita with low fat cheese spread and cucumber - really refreshing in this weather!! If you really want an icecream dizzydo - apparently there's one called skinny cow which isn't too bad. Alternatively what about a fruit ice lolly???

OP posts:
lemonice · 15/07/2005 13:26

Don't say it that often but LOL..dgs is grandson, who had noodles, sardines and cottage cheese as I am supposed to be working...I think i'm going to have to have something though as I can't concentrate, had a late night...

dizzydo · 15/07/2005 15:42

I ate one of those yummy yummy mangos from Pakistan, they are smaller than the green ones, an orangey yellow colour and it was absolutely lovely. So sweet I can honestly say I enjoyed it more than a Magnum. Try one, I recommend it. That did the trick

dizzydo · 19/07/2005 12:40

1.5lbs gain

lemonice · 19/07/2005 12:51

Never mind dizzydo, I haven't really lost anything much but keep trying...
