Anyone tried the "Every Other Day Diet" or "EODD"

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this diet and how they got on with it.

It sounds almost too good to be true. Like with any diet which claims that's it's so easy to lose bags of weight in just a few weeks, ther has to be a catch, right?
There's a link which explains it here:

Hi

I haven't done this diet but it's been in the papers today. The scientific theory supports this method of eating but I know that I cannot do it. It's easy on the day that you are starving yourself but on the 'foodie day' I know that I will gorge on food and wouldn't be able to control my eating.

I may just fast once a week to give my insides a rest as the virtues of fasting are enormous.

Good luck and hopefully you will get some more responses.

I actually like the sound of this. Haven't heard of it before but I can see how it would work in theory. I am currently having success with calorie restricting and have lost around 10lbs in the past month. I may look into this diet if the weight loss starts to slow and my metabolism adjusts to the diet. Sounds fairly good but I do think that I would have to be really careful on the feed days not to go bonkers and eat 2 breakfasts, a KFC for lunch and 2 pizzas for tea!

I read this too...I decided to give it a go...I am on a 500 calorie day. I'll have to let you know how it goes! I also am doing a workout nearly every day...started off only being able to do a half hearted half hour but can now do a kick ass full hour after 3 weeks.

Just thought I would update you on my progress.Basically I did it for a little while but started to feel dizzy and sick a lot. However, it has made me reevaluate what I was eating before and I am now eating a lot less knowing that I can do it. I start off very frugal always eating less than I want, eg: 1 weetabix not 2 for breakfast, 1 piece of bread with salad and tuna instead of a sandwich made with 2 and im finding that im really ok. Then if i do lapse in the evening, Im still not going over a normal 1,250 normal calorie intake. It helps psychologically to know that you can eat very little one day and then go on a nice meal with your mates the next day and not feel guilty about it. I have lost 6lbs in the last few weeks which is more than I have lost in a long time!

don't think i could stick to this one. i'm doing celebrity slim and its worked well so far. ive lost 4lbs and you can have snacks and stuff. reckon id just cave in on this other one and pig out on rubbish.

It's working for my friend, but she admits her colleagues dread her 'down' days. Having seen its effect on her, I think it's really good way to kick start weight loss but only for a few weeks - with the hope that it leads to a re-evaluation of how much we actually need to consume.
