Hello,
I can thoroughly recommend the following books which are helping me to work out why I eat emotionally and how to do something about it:
Geneen Roth, Breaking Free From Emotional Eating
Susie Orbach, On Eating
Paul McKenna, I Can Make You Thin
and
Sophie and Audrey Boss Beyond Chocolate
I read the Paul McKenna book a year ago and had some success with weight loss, but have found that learning how to eat intuitively is an ongoing thing for me. I recently bought the Geneen Roth book as it seems to be the one the others are based on and it's very good and very detailed.
I find different things help me on different days, but in a nutshell it's waiting until I'm hungry before I eat, eating exactly what I want/crave, concentrating on eating and stopping when I'm full. All much simpler said than done! But I feel I'm on the right track.
And yoga is my thing too - it really feels like I'm treating myself when I make time for it.
MN is lovely, isn't it? I'm definitely a happier, better mum because of it.
