Come and give me a kick up the bum - I'm getting back on the ww wagon!

Have fallen off the ww wagon for about 8 weeks now (my excuse was that my computer had broken so I couldn't track online!)I've only put on a few pounds so have stuck to the basic principles but need to get back on track.

So want to lose a stone - I've just tracked my food intake today and am 2 points over already

How can I stay motivated this time?

that involves planning though!

right - today is good so far.

breakfast: muesli and strawberries
lunch: ham salad sandwich
dinner: home made pizza (no cheese though on it though)

I have even managed to fit in an exercise class this morning which means I'm now unable to walk up the stairs so will be confined to surfing the internet for teh rest of day!

how's everyone doing today?

I did okay yesterday - piles of roasted vegetables and although there was oil, I don't feel ad as everything else was 0 points. Today has been fairly good - but I was starving after lunch so hasd a bowl of tomatoe soup and a small chocolate. I'm still on track for the day broadly though - although we have dinner out tonight with my brother and his wife so that could be challenging...

I should be cleared today by my physio to go back to gym tomorrow though so will hopefulyl fit a couple of sessions in this week.

loler · 12/08/2009 19:19

mmm- that wagon is rolling away!

McD veggie deli sandwich and medium fries (did manage to resist large even though you get a free glass with a large meal!) for lunch. Can't think of waht we've got in for freeish tea.

Have you got a oil mister for the roasted veg? If you drizzle oil over it will add up to more points than you think. The mister is 1/2 point per spray of olive oil. Would need no more than 1 point to do a huge roasting tin.

And I put blobs of fat free creme fraiche (sp) or greek yogurt on my homemade pizza for a taste of authentic cheesey type pizza works well and I almost prefer it now.

Full of good tips for main meals but need to cut out the huge daytime eating I'm doing.

loler · 12/08/2009 19:20

And well done on the gym - even if I had a chance (read into that some mug to have the dc) to go to the gym I really don't think I could bring myself to do it!

OhBling · 13/08/2009 11:14

It's so hard isn't it?

Dinner last night was okay - lots of salads so although the meat was quite high points, I was able to keep things under control and resisted dessert but stuck with some coffee only.

I know what you mean about the daytime eating - it's so hard when you really don't want to have to cook and are just starving. If you're at home, it it worth looking into some of those ready meals you can bake from frozen? I buy the microwave ones for having at the office and generally find it's a good way to keep control. I think the challenge is to find food that's still appealing without being apppallingly bad for you.

The gym thing is interesting in that I've totally changed my approach - I used to feel it was pointless if I didn't go three times a week for 45 minutes and see demonstrable improvements. With WW, I realise that's silly. Ultimately, if I can get in 30 minutes of heart racing exercise, I'm doing well and earning activity points. It's NOT about getting all fit and perky to run a marathon or toning up my arms (at this point). It's just about tryig to support the weight loss.

I find this works and it means I feel good, even if I only go once a week or whatever. It's all about not putting unreasonable expectations on myself.

Am going to have soup for lucnh. It's a skinny broth from my local soup place but it's really good and has some meatballs which add a little protein which I'll need after going to the gym.

sleeplessinstretford · 13/08/2009 15:03

i think i am doing ok you know?
a bowl of frosties and skim for breakfast and an apple mid morning.
having tuna pate on brown bread for lunch and will have grapes and satsuma mid afternoon. This has been my lunches past 2 days and is ok.
Last night we had roast beef and all the trimmings (i didn't have anything roasted so reckon that i am well under my points-well i totted it up and am sure i am!)followed by meringue nests, fruit and half fat creme fraiche, gutted to discover that i could've had proper clotted creme (1bsp) instead of a shed load of crappy creme fraiche!
going to meet the girls tonight for a glass of two of wine,we're having quiche and salad and jackets tonight-making some coleslaw to go in my spud which should be pretty low as got diet mayo and the rest is just veg.
I am not drinking as much tea and coffee as i can't afford the sugar and if i sit down long enough with a brew i need a little snack!

MissisBoot · 13/08/2009 15:43

excellent - well done everyone!

I've just got to that time of day where I've got in from a meeting and could just eat loads so have come on here to stop me from eating crisps

so far today so good:

breakfast: muelsi and berries = 3.5 pts
lunch: chicken salad = 5 pts
dinner: cod in breadcrumbs and oven chips = 7.5 pts

right, off to hunt for an apple!

so,missis boot-if i were you i'd have 7 points to blow there...what you gonna do with it?
3 kitkats?
7 bags of french fries?
wine wine lovely wine?do tell...

MissisBoot · 13/08/2009 16:04

well - that apple adds up to another 1/2 point and had a handful of grapes so that's another 1/2 pt - am going to try and save the rest as tomorrow I've got meeting sandwiches for lunch which are always stuffed with calories.

OP posts:
sleeplessinstretford · 13/08/2009 16:06

an apple has points???since when?!

MissisBoot · 13/08/2009 16:10

I know! They've brought out a new 'filling food' plan - so no longer free foods like the switch programme. I think its to encourage you to eat more low GI foods.

OP posts:
sleeplessinstretford · 13/08/2009 16:22

right-shit.
i assumed fruit&veg bar spuds/nanas/sweet pot were nil...buggar!

MissisBoot · 13/08/2009 16:26

most are now either 1/2 or a point some are still zero - what do you eat most of and I'll let you know the points if you want?

OP posts:
OhBling · 13/08/2009 16:40

And the one that threw me completely originally was peas - lots of points!

Anything with carbs - real or sugar - has poitns, even if it's apples/potatoes. So fruit all has points, although relatively low.

We're all doing well today. I went to the gym and had my lowfat soup (it was broth). I can't figure out exact points but it was mostly broth and five small meatballs and a few noodles so counting it as 3 to be on the safe side. It also had a slice of bread and I had a small greek salad on the side - all free points except for the small bit of feta cheese. So I'm on track. Getting Thai take out tonight so off to investigate what's the best option - instinctively i'm guessing soup or perhaps pad thai?

sleeplessinstretford · 13/08/2009 16:49

peas! FFS!
i guess i need to read my books eh?
figured it was much the same as last time...
how many points in peas? i'd be better off with a kitkat eh?!
we usually have as veg- green beans, carrots, brocolli, baby corn, cauli or any mix of the above.
shite...i think i need to recalculate this now for the week!

loler · 13/08/2009 17:09

Oh - had forgotten about how good soup is. Used to make my own all the time - it's very easy to make free soup that feels very high in points. Carrot & Ginger is a good one, garlic mushroom, roasted tomato are both good too. Will make some tonight for lunch tomorrow - might offset the sweets I had at the cinema today?

Doing stirfry for tea tonight so that's any a couple of points for the sauce.

I also have gone right off peas - they are just not worth it! Sweet corn is also quite high.

OhBling · 13/08/2009 17:15

One heaped tablespoon of peas is 0.5 points. Corn on the cob is 1 point per ear. The rest are still 0 (on your list).

loler · 18/08/2009 19:39

everytime I join a dieting thread they seem to die a death - stay strong and come back!!

I lost 1/2 lb this week - I'm sure that it's because I took all my jewellery off before I went in and didn't have a drink after 3 pm!

Going on holiday on Friday - dreading the french cheeses!
