I am currently 10st 7 and would like to be 8st 7 by xmas. I am 5ft 3 so that would be a good weight for me. I actually went from 13st 11 to 9 st 9 last year then put nearly a stone on after my wedding. I am going to Australia for a holiday on 2nd Jan so would love to be trim and slim by then. Can I do this? And would anyone like to join me?

i don't think tutter was eating a lot of pasta, expat.

still, y'know, if it was only for three months. i could just go a bit MAD.

mustsleep · 27/07/2009 21:25

lol aitchtwooh did you eat anything with your nine boiled eggs

expatinscotland · 27/07/2009 21:27

mmm, aitch. homemade ravioli, with homemade pesto and herby sausage from Ballencrieff Farms.

tagliatelle with langoustines and carbonara.

spagetti with a nice ragu.

soup pasta with chickpeas and broth, or a heart minestrone.

AitchTwoOh · 27/07/2009 21:28

i haven't done it, the bizillionaire charles saatchi did.

you know what? it's my caesarean that's done it. it's made, like, a shelf of fat. it has to go.

(although my pal recently lost a load of weight and confessed that she now tucks her cs shelf into her pants. lololol. jeeesus. and that's what i'm aiming for. lol. [depressed])

9 eggs a day?

I have 9 chickens in the garden so could do that and never need to shop again.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 27/07/2009 21:31

God, I have a c/s shelf/ridge of blubber.

expatinscotland · 27/07/2009 21:31

i don't even have the excuse of having had a CS. just a baby the size of an elephant.

sassy · 27/07/2009 21:32

Yes, and you wouldn't need to buy loo roll as often cos of eggs being so binding

expatinscotland · 27/07/2009 21:36

autumnal food is gorg, too.

stews, casseroles, soups with homemade croutons and melted parm or cheese on top, baked squash drizzle in olive oil, pasta with sauce, hot malt loaf with lashings of butter int eh morning.

mmm.

EachPeachPearMum · 27/07/2009 21:45

Wow! I didn't expect to see so many replies so fast

Last time I lost weight I used a site called Weight Loss Resources. I was basically eating about 1100 cals a day but added any cals earned through exercise onto that which encouraged me to exercise! I usually did a Davina DVD which got me about 350 extra so had 1450 a day which was doable without feeling starving.

Am just struggling to get back on that wagon to be honest and need to kick myself up the bum! I guess its the thought of all the exercise holding me back.

Have put before and after pics of me from last year on my profile if you want to sneak a peek ;)

Thanks for all the advice so far - only 22 weeks until my holiday (so about 21 weeks until Xmas) so we could all easily lose at least 1 and a half stone by then (if we go on the 1lb a week loss). But usually it comes off easier at the start so lets just do it I say!

Breakfasts are always my hardest meals - I hate milk and cereal so struggle to cut out bread which I should do as I am addicted!

OK so Day1 in the BigMutha house went ok. Did Tutter's museli thang, had fish and baked beans at lunchtime, just had one piece of cheese on toast plus rasps in greek yog. Snacks melon and apple. No exercise though.

Ironing or pilates DVD tonight? Thrilling choice.

Well 1st day for me has been ok but I am not sure about the low carb thing I was trying to do this week in lead up to my friends hen weekend (Friday to Saturday with the girls in Oxford - this will be good for the diet ). But today being in a rush I had a bit of poached salmon for breakfast (too busy to make eggs too), some chicken for lunch, then was naughty and had a couple of mouthfuls of DCs pasta at their teatime . Dinner is lamb and veg.

I don't think I can do low carb long term Maybe just cut out bread and pasta then I can have potatoes.....
