Title says it all. I like my food and don't want to eat lettuce leaves. Happy to do short bursts of exercise three times a week provided I can find the time but I will just have to.

I need to lose 7 lbs and am a size 12 ish (only 5ft 2 so this is more than I'd like to be even though it's not very overweight).

Have lost the same amount from the same starting weight before ds but that was with intensive exercise with a personal trainer plus a sensible eating plan and I don't have the time for such a lot of exercise or the money for the trainer now!

There's scope for me to cut out the naughty food (usually have a couple of biscuits a day for example).

What worked for others with a similar starting point and goal?

hi pigs, how did it go yesterday? i was alarmed by my scales yesterday morning - well over the 9st mark which is my wake up call.(i'm only a shortie..) so i had a "good" day, though it was spoiled by DH insisting on a takeaway for dinner. (we ordered Thai, which is not too unhealthy, as takeaways go..and i didn't eat any extra crap like prawn crackers) This morning scales a teensy bit below 9st which was cheering (yes, i know i shouldn't be weighing myself every day... but seeing an '8' st sthing makes me feel so much better than seeing a 9 st...! )and i've tried to be good today. no white buttered toast which is my normal Saturday treat. . How about you?
oh yes, and i did a dance class yesterday. it was such good fun! it's only on once a week though..

It's good to have a wake-up call though isn't it.

Mine was when the lady in the alteration shop on Thurs pm said I really needed to lose weight - cheeky cow. She was no skinny minny herself.Anyway I suppose she has done me a favour.

First two days have been totally fine - it's been easy to stick to so far although I haven't bothered doing a food diary, just keeping tab mentally.
I did my usual sport today plus a bike ride there and back. Normally after that I'd have had a naughty snack but didn't.

I can't live without hot buttered toast but do stick to granary as white bread and me seem to be a recipe for weight gain (higher gi I think).

Was at dinner with a nutritionist friend tonight though and she was telling me my usual breakfast (two toasts with butter and a tiny bit of jam, fresh juice and one tea no sugar) is really unhealthy. Ah well tough as it's staying.

Yum at your thai meal - what did you have?? Go on make me jealous!

Glad it's all going well. Think that was extremely cheeky of the alterations lady!

I had a big pig out dinner last night as we had friends round. Really need to get started again on watching what I eat again or it's going to creep back on.

It was but it has given me a kick up my ample arse so to speak!

I was too embarrassed to tell dh what she said. I fear he thinks I'm a lardy arse already (and he is being very smug as he has lost any excess wait over the last couple of months)....

Eat healthily, drink loads of water etc etc. I'm sure you know the sort of stuff to do in regards to your eating habits. I think the majority of us do, but we don't all have the motivation to do it (me included at really low points in my life - Christmas is a bad time for just letting myself go!).

I eat normally, don't deprive myself, but have noticed since having a child that the weight doesn't shift as easily! I'm also size 12 but have had to nip it in the bud if I end up struggling to get into my jeans, so have mentally psyched myself up to realising that exercise has to go hand-in-hand with eating sensibly to lose the weight, or it just won't happen.

I do three 30 min sessions on my exercise bike per week, and also do walking on top of that during the week. Sometimes very little but other days quite a lot. Have now been doing this since mid-May 09.

I use a diary to track when I am doing my exercise on the bike, sort of like a log book, to make me realise that all the hard work I put in is actually achieving something. It's nice to look back over the weeks and go 'oh god, have i really done that much exercise?!' it's the most i've actually done in a long time!

I weight myself very rarely, maybe once every 6-8 weeks, prefer going by how my trousers fit as a good guide as to whether I'm piling the lbs on or not.

I have v little will power and don't 'do' diets, but have lost a stone in a month by cutting out nearly all carbs, all snacks and not drinking wine Mon-Thurs, then having pretty much what I want over the weekends, which has kept me going!
