Just wanted to do a quick poll really. I was just wondering how tall people are and how much do you weigh. I know it sounds really nosy (!) but I was reading a magazine (think it was Reveal) and I was quite surprised that a 5ft 6 woman weighed 8st 8 when I weigh 10st 2 (atm am hoping to diet but you know how it is!!)

{grin] swiper i dont watch tv wish i had seen that!...that is my biggest fear to end up syuck in a chair forever or dead

pleaserewind · 25/04/2005 09:54

bm1 21.80

serenity · 25/04/2005 09:55

BMI of ....pretty high actually, but surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be. I just need motivation really. I know I need to lose weight, but I don't care enough (except when I have a bad day and hate all my clothes etc) to put the effort in.

almostanangel · 25/04/2005 10:13

all gone quiet here!

compo · 26/04/2005 07:49

Thanks for all the replies. It's really good hearing from people who feel confident and happy with how they look. It's a real inspiration to me

5'2" - 11.7st - bmi 29.something - overweight - 14 weeks pg - does that make a difference or am i just a fatty? never been smaller than a size 12 - currently wearing maternity clothes but usual size is 14

tarantula · 26/04/2005 08:25

I am 5'6" and only weigh 8 stone which I know Im considered underweight but have been that weight for years and find it difficult to put on weight. Actually ahd a long chat withthe midwife when I was pg as I was worried about my weight but she said that the BMI chart is not the only significant factor and you need to take into account other factors such as build too which reassured me quite a bit.

QueenEagle · 26/04/2005 08:30

I am 5ft 9in and weigh just over 12 stones. Sounds heavy but am quite athletic in build. Ideally could do with losing about a stone but am not rushing that as I've just had a baby. Went up to 14 stones when pg with him! Quite happy overall, just need to concentrate really on toning up.

MissChief · 26/04/2005 09:01

5'10 - 10 1/2 stone (+ bump currently - no idea how much put on, wouldn't like to know right now!)

fastasleep · 26/04/2005 09:03

I'm 5'4 and 11 stone including a 3 and a half month bump...I like to think that my stupid huge boobs account for at least 2-4 stone of that though

snafu · 26/04/2005 09:05

I'm 5'8" and think I probably weigh around 11 stone, perhaps a bit more! I can't remember the last time I stepped on a set of scales. I have broad shoulders and a fairly athletic build with a big wobbly tummy and flabby bum. But who cares? I look reasonably presentable most of the time. Of course there are things I would change if I could be bothered, but I'd rather eat a cake instead

Tommy · 26/04/2005 09:25

I'm 5'4" and weigh 10st 8lbs. Could do with losing about a stone

harrogatemum · 26/04/2005 09:27

5 11 and 11 stone with attractive "muffin roll-top" hanging over top of size 14 jeans.

redsky · 26/04/2005 10:04

I'm 5ft 3 and weigh nearly 11 stone. I want to lose a stone but I'm finding it harder as I get older (47). Ten years ago if I put on a few pounds I could lose them again in a couple of weeks of careful eating and exercise.

heffalump · 26/04/2005 10:53

I am 5'8" and 14 stones (help!) I despair after so many failed attempts at dieting. I even had a go at paul mckennas cd "I can make you thin". Well he hasn't got a hope of making me thin if initial results are anything to go by.

Lizzylou · 26/04/2005 11:04

I am 5ft 9" and 12 stones 8lbs (BMI of 26), I know I look and feel my best at 11 stones 10/12 stones......but, this time last year, after just having DS I was 16 1/2 stones!! So, all told feel like bloody Cindy Crawford now!
The only time I was slim (size 10/12) was when I was a lazy broke student and ate 1 slice of toast a day and smoked 30 fags (followed by copious amounts of cider).....I can't do that anymore!

NomDePlume · 26/04/2005 11:11

5ft 7ins
9st 8lbs

Pre DD I was a (still curvy) 8st 9lb.

PinkFluffPudding · 26/04/2005 11:14

5'9" and non pregnancy weight is 8 1/2 stone. I'm careful to eat as healthily as possible and now i have dd get off my butt once a day even if it's an amble up to Tesco's - but every day have always had to have some kind of copious junk food fix such as cakes, sweets, chocolate, chips, ice cream, peanut butter and mmmmmm... now i'm pregnant I have a cream tea every afternoon!

koalabear · 26/04/2005 11:18

5' 3"
60 kg, 61 kg, 62 kg, 63 kg, and rising

NomDePlume · 26/04/2005 11:19

BMI of almost 21. Pre DD it was 19.

Gobbledigook · 26/04/2005 11:21

5' 6" and no idea what I weigh - don't own any scales and never weigh myself, just go by how my clothes are fitting and how toned/untoned I am.

ghosty · 26/04/2005 11:22

Pinkfluff ... you must be very very slim!
I am 5' 7" and when I got married I was 8st 10 and was a stick ... I was in size 8 clothes.
I tend to put on a lot of weight during pregnancy and it takes about a year to shift but I am finally down to 9 and a half stone which is fine ...
It would be nice to go back down to 9st just to see if I can ... but tbh I am happy to be wearing size 10/12 again ...

Gobbledigook · 26/04/2005 11:23

Ghosty - almost ditto (just apart from the exta inch in height!)!!

NomDePlume · 26/04/2005 11:24

ghosty, I'm the same height as you and was 8st 8/9 and was in size 10 clothes ?! Although I've always had reasonably big boobs which prevented me from fitting sz8

fastasleep · 26/04/2005 11:24

I'd be happy being 10 stone

I feel fat now.
