Is there any FREE website where you can track your progress? Weight etc?

I usually have my Wii fit but have lent the whole wii to my sister and I am heavily pregnant anyway.

I have started slimming world today, but haven't paid to join, just doing it from home. I have written out a meal planner but wondering if there are other things avaliable to help keep me on track? We can't aford to be paying weekly subscriptions, my shopping was bigger than ever this week as it was.

Any ideas?

You can just track weight etc with a spreadsheet, like Excel?

Blissed · 22/02/2009 19:44

I'm with NQC - a simple spreadsheet, Excel or similar - if it is set up right, will do the bizz - will do plus and minus weights in black/red and it will do the job. It is free, but requires a bit of input. I would favour this as I am not a "joiner and sharer" IYKWIM.

Abbott Healthcare do one to support the use of Reductil, but you don't have to be taking Reductil to use it. I will see if I can find a link.

Food focus is good free resource for tracking weight and exercise.

BoffinMum · 22/02/2009 19:51

Here you go

PollyGarter · 22/02/2009 19:52

But please don't get too caught up with your weight whilst pregnant, unless it's been suggested for medical reasons. That way madness lies... there's plenty of time after the arrival.

You could look at Spark People. They also do diet plans, with shopping lists I think, and exercise plans. And you can write it all down, what you've eaten and how much you've exercised and it will work out calories ingested and calories burned for you. It's a bit over-enthusiastic and possibly has too many features, but you might find it useful.

PollyGarter - oops, I didn't spot the pregnancy weight-loss issue. What you said is totally correct. Wish I had your insight

I know about being pregnant etc which is why I am just going for healthy eating and I am eating loads etc. Basically, I was eating absloute crap all the time, which is obviously no good for me or baby, but since starting my slimming world today, I am planning on much more of a healthy balanced diet. Don't worry, I am not silly and about to do atkins or something! .

I am heavy pregnant too, so it is more getting in the good habits now, to loose the weight when the baby is born. I can't do much excerise at the moment, because my annemia makes me too out of breath, although that is imporoving with tablets - but that might not have happened if I was on SW in the first place as it is so much healthier food.

I will take a look at those sites, thank you. I am no good with excel etc and I am pretty sure I don't have it on my laptop anyway. But thanks all the same.

BabyFit if you're pregnant and their sister site SparkPeople if you're not.

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 22/02/2009 20:57

Would've linked but I'm NAK, they're easy to find anyway. They're both really good sites.

PollyGarter · 22/02/2009 21:44

Great to hear you're being sensible soon2be.

No insight, Blissed! i didn't read it fully first either, just wanted to be helpful and posted, then read again.

I don't know about slimming world, but i'm pretty sure some diet clubs have provision for pregnancy and nursing. Be sure to check that out as it will make a huge difference to nutrition for yourself and baby.

BabyFit looks brilliant Tinker! Wish i'd seen it when i was pregnant. I linked cos i think it's fantastic, and don't want anyone skimming, like i normally do, to miss it.

All the best for a great pregnancy, Soon2be!

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 22/02/2009 22:12

I used it in my previous pregnancies and started using it this time but I'm too much into MN now! It's good as a parenting forum if you've had your children too, but the fitness stuff is from SP if you're not pregnant.

soon2befamilyof4 · 22/02/2009 22:25

Yes you have extra dairy and stuff if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, which is great because that is the bit I would struggle with!

Honestly, I did my food shop this morning for my slimming world planned week and god, my fridge looks so different! All fresh meat and fruit and veg and lovely cook from scratch ingredients. Instead of ready meals, pizzas, and bung in the oven crap. I really feel this is a good thing, not that I am doing a "diet" iyswim?
