The truth about what you should really get from a personal trainer and their 'real' professional levels

I see a lot of confusion and uncertainty amongst women concerning using a personal trainer.

As I've been PA to one of the highest qualified one-to-one Exercise and Nutritional specialists in the UK and Europe for near on 20 years now, I know precisely what a 'real' one actually is, what should be delivered,at what level and to what depth.

So if you need some very straight talking, clinically factual, no nonsense advice on what's exactly what in personal training, please feel free to ask away!

I wonder if 'the boss' knows what a terrible ambassadpr for biomechanics she is being.

Is anyone else wondering if she is working for Bruce Springsteen? He does look like he might be qualified in the field of Biomeccano.

I had a PT for a year. He spoke some utter rubbish about nutrition and I knew more about some aspects of fitness than him because I had probably been going down the gym since he was in nappies, but paying him did inspire me to get up at the weekend and make an effort. However my progress was not hugely impressive tbh.

My question - does 'The Boss' know anything about SPD rehabilitation for people that were quite fit to start with and had/have pretty good core stability, but who have been sitting in a chair for months whacking on the weight because of the condition? Physios are currently talking rubbish to me about that and I daresay PTs will start sniffing me out soon as well, but I don't know what I should be looking for them to do after the birth and recovery period. It was going down the gym whilst pg that partly got me in this mess to start with!

I know someone(lets call her Jean) who has a personal trainer once a week who comes to her home gym.

Jean lives about 400 yards from the local shops and never walks to them, always drives. In fact she never walks anywhere and gets her dh to drive her all over the place, even the shortest of journeys.

Jean's friend who lives half a mile away also sees the same PT at Jean's home gym.

Jean's unemployed dh DRIVES to collect the friend and then drives her home again
