Hi,

Need to lose around 1 1/2 stone and was thinking of joining a slimming club.

These are the ones in my area.

I have never been to one so which one worked for you.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Hi Maggss

I have been to SW & WW but to be honest I have found a website called weight loss resources and its about calorie counting which has been the best by far.

RC - I think this is calorie count + you also get an exercise class so I would go for this.

MaggsS · 17/01/2009 07:40

Thanks.

Was thinking RC may be good due to the excercise class but have no experience of any of them.

Will look at the website you suggest.

Do you have any tips?

As I busy mum of 3 I find I forget to have breaky and by 11 am wonder why I am so hungry and end up snacking.

Must admit wine is also a downfall

I now its hard when you have 3 kiddies t run after but you really need to get breakfast. Even if it's only a slice of toast.

Wine - Why don't you try drinking from a smaller glass or adding sode/lemonade to make it last longer.

For a normal day for me I would have homemade museli with natural yogurt, banana, 2 satsumas, roast chicken salad sandwich and dinner would be a small piece of meat and potatos and lots of veg. Then I have 30g of 70% dark chocolate at night and at the weekends have vodka & diet lemonade.

You get a 24hr free trial with the website and the its 9.95 per month.

Good luck and give us a shout if you need any help

I'm following a RC diet at the moment and it's really good - losing weight quicker than I thought and I am never hungry on it - so RC gets a thumbs up from me!

What's the exercise class like at RC Mommy?
Also is the diet easy to follow?

With Slimming World I believe you have red and green days? Is the complicated?

Thanks for the advise all.

I haven't actually joined RC, but bought a RC mag, so can't advise you on the exercise classes. But have been doing my own exercising - in the mag they recommend 30 min of exercise every day - can do anything and I'm doing walking (fast walking) with DD in her pram. All helps!

MaggsS · 17/01/2009 19:56

May get the mag and take a look.

Walking is really good for you. I wish I did more but I live in a small village, no shops or proper pathway to next village so need car to get 3 dc's around.

Well done you

I joined RC a year after having my second baby. I needed to lose 1 1/2 stone, I did it in 4 months! and now lighter than I was aiming for.
I found doing the exercise class encouraged me to take up other exercise classes, and I also now run twice a week. great for my health and gives me a hour break from the hubby and kids!
Huge success story for me, I feel the best I have in years, and everyone in the class in the same boat!
Good luck!

MaggsS · 19/01/2009 20:36

Well done Nicky79.
The class in my area is on Wednesday. All I need now is the courage to go
