How can I lose 2 stone?

Have had 2 babies one after another but the youngest is now 6 months old and I am piling weight on atm mainly becuase Im stressed with uni and cant stop eating crap.

I have tried slimming world but I just cant stick to it. Im thinking of joining the gym in the new year and seeing if I can get one of my healthy friends to come training with me once a week as this will motivate me to work hard. I know the exercise will make a difference to my appearance and energy levels but changes need to be made within my diet and I dont know how to keep myself motivated and stop myself eating the wrong things.

I really want to get on top of this in the new year. I want a new me, I want to feel confident and happy and regain control of my life and I think sorting out my image would help me a lot in other areas of my life.

good luck girl

I know a good number of us have been a bit worried, glad to hear you're back posting and getting a Plan for the new year

Don't be too hard on yourself, 6mo is still very recent for having your most recent baby, imo it takes a year to get 'you' back afterwards.

tell ya what, how bout you go for one thing at a time and not three?
PND - from bitter experience as we've mentioned elsewhere before - is the hardest of the heap, but is the one which affects all of the other things and ultimately affects how you see life and everything around you. The fog's improving for me now, but i feel a huge need to say to you that six mths is a very short time in the scale of pnd, please please be a little kinder to yourself

Look out for Mou/ Smile's threads - they are quite inspiring and tell how she lost 4 stone in 18 months. I need to lose weight too but am still stuck at the thinking abut it stage.

I had 2 babies close together and struggled to start losing the weight too.
It is now working but i have to say that ds2 is 11months old now.
Think the weight only started coming off when he was about 8 months.
And that was after i'd had a stomach bug (not a recommended diet plan!).
I have really had to change my eating habits - i'm not a gym person, or a diet club joiner.
And what i've found works is questioning everything i'm about to eat.
Not sure if i can explain properly, i don't calorie count, but i think will this be 'wasted' calories. will i really enjoy these 2 biscuits or would i be happy with just 1?
Am i about to mindlessly eat this cake or will i really appreciate it? that kind of thing.

Some things are habits too that take some breaking.
i would have 2 biscuits with every cup of tea, and i was having more and more tea to keep me awake (as boys were waking me up lots), so was getting through the biscuits!

And at friends we would always bring cake for the afternoon, but once you've started saying no thanks (and bringing a satsuma or something), it gets easier.
and they stop offering them to you which makes it easier again.

And when people start telling you how much weight you are losing, and how good you are looking, it all feels so good that you try harder.

And i gradually changed some things:
sprite - diet coke
butter - low fat margarine
full fat milk - skimmed, etc.

Have lost nearly 2 stone since aug/sept
back in some, but not all, of my pre-pg1 clothes

Oh & i read somewhere that it is very hard to lose weight when you are sleep deprived & when you have weird/active hormones.
Both common in new mums, so don't beat yourself up if it's slow to start coming off.

(oh and i don't know your history, but if you have PND you must surely be extra gentle on yourself.)

Good luck!
