Thomcat
thanks
I started 2.5 yrs ago, but not been 'dieting' all that time, just adapting to new lifestyle, and weight has come off in fits and spurts.
I've had a few sticky patches, but they are all part of the learning process too.

Hi FC
not sure what more I can tell you - just eat healthy and eat often ( every 2-3 hrs) so blood glucose doesn't plummet, it keeps cravings at bay, and keeps metabolism fired up.

and make vats of soup !

just drinking strange veggie juice, lettuce. q, carrot, celery and grated frozen ginger, bit odd. Maybe I should've followed a recipe ! !

Yes, thanks fairycakes, you saved me a job

Katya, I think that's amazing, well done. It's all about changing your lifestyle and not about dieting,I think you've done amazingly.

Here's to us changing our ways but not doing diets. xxx

no problem - i was rushing a bit at the end so sorry about that!!

if you were to follow that plan, will it still work if you miss out things you dont like? or do you have to have everything as the differnt foods support each other (if that makes sense)

also she is alsways going on about drinking herbal teas - is this for people who drink normal tea as a replacememnt, as i dont drink tea at all and not too bothered about 20 cups of nettle tea a day!

Sorry to gatecras, but I am becoming a bit of a dr gillian junkie!!

She has some recipes on her website. The sweet potato shepherds pie is DEELISH.

here it is

I got her cook book this morning, and I am going to try some chick pea burgers this evening.

fairycakes · 26/03/2005 19:31

thanks kama

please join in cellogirl - i need all the help i can get as i am not the sharpest tool in the box so i have to keep asking questions as i am determined to follow it, but dont understand half of it!!

for exaple, todays question is....... other than potatos, yams and sweetcorn, what esle is classed as starchy vegetables?!

think i might make those chick pea burgers tonight. last night we had chicken in apple from the recipe book, it was really nice, but the chicken took about 20 mins extra to cook than the time she stated, also the recipe had sweetcorn in and i think that is from group 2, which if you are following the food combining diet, should really be left out!

come back everyone - i have more questions i need answering!

doea anyone know if there is a reason why in her green book in the abundant food list there are 3 seperate ;lists of fruit - does that mean you can only eat the fruits in that list together or something?

also on that list, can you have fish as she doesnt list which types

one more........just had nettle tea it was DISGUSTING - do you think you would be able to take a nettle supplement rather than drink the tea? i dont think i can stomache it again it made me want to be sick!!
