Weight Watchers...working out points?

Someone who I talk to at one of DD's clubs was talking to me about slimming world, ww, cambridge diet etc and has kindly put some weight watchers books through the door - the shopping guide and eating out guide. I don't know how many points I would be allowed per day though - how is it worked out?

I have the points questionnaire here if you'd like me to work it out for you. I need to know your age, height, current weight ( just the stone number ) and how active you are - do you spend most of the day sitting, standing, mixture of both, very active? Private message me, if you'd rather.

Thanks celery, that would be great Although just from looking through the book I am starting to think I will be in trouble with my 'normal' food shop!!

ok,
I'm 31, 5'5" current weight is 13st 3ish, am fairly active -walk everywhere and most days do 5 mile walk!

Okay, you should be on 26 points at the moment. When you get down to 12 stone something, that will go down to 25 points. Drop a point every time you drop a stone.

Good luck! I lost 3 stone on WW last year.

zephyrcat · 02/07/2008 14:55

Fantastic thank you Would it be cheeky to ask you about dp's points too? So many people seem to have success with it but I just can't afford to do it at the moment and would never have the courage to go to a meeting!!!

Sorry, just been on school run. Sure, let me know his details.

zephyrcat · 02/07/2008 16:06

No worries! Thanks He's 43, probably 19 stone something, not very active, spends most of the day sitting minimum exercise at the mo... doesn't sound good lol

how tall is he?

zephyrcat · 02/07/2008 16:09

oops knew I'd missed something - 6 foot

Assuming he is over 5'4, he will be on 33 points. Men automatically get 6 extra points just for being men . If he gets a bit more active, he can add a couple more points.

If you both do regular aerobic exercise, you can add extra points for that too.

I have a points calculator on excel, I could email it to you if you like. ( shhhhh )

zephyrcat · 02/07/2008 16:13

More points for being men?! Bit unfair!

that would be fab - as long as you don't mind? My email is [email protected]

Thank you

That's been sent, let me know if it doesn't arrive, or there's a problem. Somebody passed it on to me, so I'm just doing the same

Current WW rules only use the saturated fat in the points calculating, so you can leave the "total fat" blank if you like.

Celery · 02/07/2008 16:20

Sure, pebblesonthebeach, 'tis done.

zephyrcat · 02/07/2008 16:20

Perfect, thanks again
