Egg and dairy free breakfast ideas please?

Just using this heat wave to sort out my meal plans for weight loss.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with ideas for breakfast which do not include dairy please?

(I already have lots of egg based ideas)

But what breakfasts are there I can eat on repeat that are sustaining but do not include eggs or dairy?

So far I have come up with:

** smoked salmon on rye bread (but expensive and don’t always fancy fish in the morning)

** field mushrooms on small round of toast

**platter of berries (not very sustaining)

Plant based yogurt is dairy free and when it's mixed with oats and water to make porridge or overnight oats the texture is different to just eating yogurt. It's feels a bit more luxurious than oats made with water. Budget supermarket oats are good for soaking as they're already quite small/ powdery. I save the nicer jumbo oats for flapjacks :)

This yog is my favourite non-dairy

Thank you for this info! I can’t say I am keen on the plant based yoghurt idea but I will give it a try!

Grilled tomatoes on toasted sourdough with mixed herbs is my go to if I've overdone the eggs.

I accidentally ordered a plant based yoghurt once. It was fine, I did notice something different but it was only confirmed once I checked the pot!

Tinned mackerel on toast.

If avoiding bread, I saw lentil pancakes being made somewhere (on tv, not street) they actually looked really good and relatively easy. I'll have a Google.

There's loads of red lentil pancake recipes so I'll let you search if you fancy those.

Flat field mushrooms, healthy sausage of choice, tinned toms or beans.

I came on to suggest home made breakfast beans but see you thought of it already! I find it's a great option as you çan make a big batch, and either eat it for a few days, or freeze it in portions so you can quickly defrost some while you make your toast and tea. You can vary the flavours eg I make an italian sort of tomato based recipe or a more French style one without tomato. Both delicious esp if you add some fresh herbs.

I like a little mini breakfast, feels like a treat.
2 x heck chicken sausages, 2 x turkey rashers, 1 snap pot of heinz beans and small slice of toast. 355kcal and 34g of protein. Or skip the beans and have an extra slice of bread and make a sandwich for 250kcal and 27g of protein.

Smoothie bowl is another idea- I had a smoothie made with form performance protein powder this morning (vegan or plant based milk think) with almond milk and blueberries but you can add things like oats, hemp hearts, chia, even veg like frozen avocado, cauliflower rice, spinach etc and blend it up so it is spoonable consistency and serve it in a bowl with toppings such as nuts so it’s more filling than a smoothie.

The granola I make is vegan & can be eaten as clusters, without milk or non-dairy alternatives to milk:

Mix 100g flaked almonds, 50g chopped walnuts, 100g chopped pecans, 50g pumpkin seeds, 50g sunflower seeds, 50g ground flaxseed, 50g desiccated coconut & 50g coconut flakes in a large bowl.
Melt 100g almond butter, 50g coconut oil, 1tsp cinnamon & 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste over low heat in a small pan. Leave to cool a little, then fold it into the nuts & seeds mixture.
Line a large baking tray with parchment. Spread the mixture evenly on it, to a depth of 1-2cm. Bake at 160C for about 25 minutes. Allow to cool, then break into clusters & keep in an airtight container.

I am df and gf. I usually have scrambled eggs with dairy free spread and avocado. Mushroom omelette is a good one too. I try and avoid all grain based carbs so this works for me.

The best df cheese is Cathedral City! You can stuff tomatoes with it for breakfast.
