Sugar hangover

Hi all,
im currently awake at 3am due to crippling stomachache, diarrhoea and a headache. I feel terrible. Have been to an event today where I had a couple (literally 2 or 3) drinks and some party food. I have been healthy eating and sugar free for 6 weeks but eased up today as it was a celebration. Could this be a sugar hangover? I wouldn't normally feel this rough after 2 or 3 drinks?

Drinking a couple of pints of gin does give one a little hangover. The finger sausages do give the tummy a turn or two.

I don’t eat much sugar and I do get really noticeable sugar hangovers if I do. However, what you describe does also sound like a bug we had a few weeks ago - I’d never had a sickness bug that came with such a bad headache. Hope you feel better soon.

I pretty much gave up added sugar a few months back. Yesterday I made my son's favourite pudding (and mine tbh), it's one from the writer of "Persiana" and it is a bit like a cross between sticky toffee pudding and Arabic coffee. Yesterday I looked at it and didn't have any. Why? Because I knew I would feel terrible in seconds and that feeling would last at least the rest of the day.

I don't drink at all nowadays so I can't speak to that but I think your symptoms are possibly that sudden change in diet but also could be norovirus as a PP suggested.

Not sure why my post has been deleted?

Sounds like food poisoning to me.
