Are reformer pilates for me?

I want to start doing an exercise class before work. It needs to be a class perfect for Wednesday morning. I have around a reformer class but I'm not sure if it's for me or if I can justify the cost.

I attend a weekly dance class and go for park run weekly. I am if a normal weight and am fairly sculpted. I just want to join a class that can help my body in any way. I do want to shed a few pounds but I think I need to eat healthier to achieve that.

I'm just not sure what reformer pilates actually does and the instructors don't look super fit to me? Is it hard? How will it help me? I'm generally quite good at flexibility/core strength from dancing.

Try it!

I really like ours. It’s a mix of stretch & strength. It works the little muscles inside us that are so important for stability & healthy aging. It will help your running & any aches & pains you have. It takes a few weeks to master but if it’s convenient then definitely give it a go.

It helps me
enormously. It isn’t about weight loss but about inner muscles and abs as PP said. I do mostly matwork but reformers occasionally.

I just got myself a spine protector yesterday, and am super excited! Pilates has made such a difference to me!

Yes, the reformer is excellent. The reformer classes are really expensive where I am but still worth it. I think it's perfect as part of a total body workout program which sounds as if you have with your running and dance. Pilates is one of my favorite exercise classes.

I do a 1:1 hour Reformer once a week and it's fabulous. Really hard work and is personalised to what I need/want. No it's not cheap but I don't do classes or gyms as hate exercising indoors. I do other outdoor exercise as well which have benefited from the Reformer work.

Great for posture and body awareness. A single weekly class won’t do much for body shape or weight loss.
I go every single day. My gym has more than 15 daily reformer classes.
