Have had a good 3/4 weeks of cardio exercise, have cut calories and although I've toned and do look slimmer, the scales have not budged!!!

It is getting me down! I'm 5ft 2" and 12.5st...I need to shift this sodding weight!!!

muscle weighs more than fat, don't forget...

Are you sure the scales are working? Does sound odd not to have lost anything whilst getting slimmer.

PussinJimmyChoos · 19/06/2008 12:45

Funny thing is, I went to the docs last week and the nurse weighed me and turned out am 6lb lighter on her scales than on mine...

So, I went home decided to test my scales - I've got two 3lb dumbells that I put on the scales and they measured them accurately so am really confused! Not to mention disheartened!

Well you know what I said before on your last thread - ditch the scales! I know you want to see your weight going down but you are slimming down and getting fit. Could you just stick them away in a cupboard for a few weeks?

I could but its like an obsession now as they aren't shifting! Even thought about buying electronic ones fgs!!!

I need a shrink don't I???

PIJC, what are you eating each day? Perhaps some extra calories are sneaking in there.

PussinJimmyChoos · 19/06/2008 22:09

I'm really trying to cut the cals...a standard day now is:

2 slices of granary bread with no spread, little bit of marmalade. Cuppa with no sugar, semi skimmed milk

If at home I'll have a two pieces of granary bread with smoked salmon and thin spread of cream cheese. If at work it will be a low fat sandwich or an egg salad

Snacks are bananas, apples, handfuls of almonds or ryvita with tiny bit of cream cheese

I do fall down with the evening meal - I can't calorie count that as cooking for DH, DS and myself and its too much faff but its not processed crap. Normally home made i.e chicken curry, spag bol etc. I've replaced the white rice that I used to have with veg and I've switched to brown pasta...

I do slip up when AF is due and end up eating a magnum or a bar of dairy milk, but I don't think that even with that, I'm going over my calorie limit iyswim?

I don't think you are eating enough. I'd be starved on that! But I don't get on with low fat diets. Could you perhaps replace some of that bread. Porridge for breakfast, or just oats with yoghurt and fruit. Salad or soup for lunch. Cut right back on the carbs for your evening meal. And don't skimp on protein and don't be afraid of healthy fats (olive oil for example).
