Hello
I've been told by my doctor I need to lose weight due to being pre diabetic and also asthmatic with a heart murmur. The extra weight is absolutely doing me no favours whatsoever and I know it is time to take action NOW. No more excuses and procrastinating. The time is now so I can be the healthiest version of myself.
I'm 43, 5"7 and 17st 10lbs as of today. BMI 38. Obese. I also suffer anxiety and mild depression.
I'm going to come back weekly and weigh in here as I know I'm more likely to stick to it if I've written it on a public forum. It's taken me courage to be open about this after living in denial for so long 😪 only myself to blame!
Anyone on a similar journey feel free to weigh in with me weekly if you want to.
Thank you

I'm on day 12 of the low fat, no sweets/chocolate/etc. It's going well but I'm surprised that I'm still wanting chocolate. Chocolate is nice, sure, but still thinking about it daily.

Thank you. I’m not depriving myself too much!

Thank you!!!! I'm using the warmer weather and the approach of summer to keep me going. I've looked into Wegovy but it's quite expensive and the worry is that once I stop it it will all come back on!!!

Day 14 here, and I'm doing this alongside being some weeks into a no clothes spend, and today I realised it's been a while since I've taken a break from smoking, which I've usually done regularly but skipped all of last year, so I'm doing that now. I also recently changed the alcohol I drink, limiting myself to Guinness because it's not so delicious. It's interesting how all of these fold in to me not living in accordance with my values, so making these choices feels better cognitively, but take some will power.

Hello
So sorry for the delay in coming back here. Lots going on as we are selling our house and been absolute chaos . My weight loss has been slow but I'm still determined to carry on. It's hard!!!! But I won't give up. It definitely takes will power, you are 100% right. I looked into mounjaro but it's flipping expensive and also I'd be worried about side effects
