Do you need to be hungry to lose weight? I don't think so ...

I've lost weight (over 5 stone) and seem to be keeping it off easily, and love my body now.

Yes, I was hungry for some of that time - and IF really worked for me.

But for the last year, I've realised I don't need to be hungry and I can feel deeply satisfied all day by the food I eat.

This is what works for me - Come and share what works for you?

Large breakfast:

  • square of 90 pc dark chocolate and 2 brazil nuts
  • lots of berries, yogourt/kefir, muesli
  • big bowl of protein and veg - tomatoes/olives + cold veg (often oven roasted cauliflower and courgette) + eggs or smokey tofu or cold chicken or sardines or smoked salmon
  • glass of gazpacho
Often I can't eat it all at the time so eat over a few hours

Other two meals:

  • lean protein + veg - occasionally a very little quinoa or rice
  • veggie soup if its around
  • more frozen or freish berries (yes I love them!!)
  • 2 eggs or some Lindahl cottage cheese if feel hungry
  • another square of chocolate and some almonds
  • a small piece of cheese on days I fancy it - perhps on a rye thin

I feel genuinely satisfied all day - and can eat out with friends a couple of times a week.... including sharing a pud, but not going wild

I eat in a 6-9h window (occasionally 10-12h), starting around 9 typically - so yes finish eating early, which is not the most sociable but is good for my body and my weight

I eat 100g protein a day (I think this made a huge difference) and masses of fibre - around 50-60g, seldom below 40g. So yes, eating a large volume, which I really like.

Eating enough protein really is a game changer. I used to be STARVING around 11am after breakfast at 7.30. These days I have a protein rich breakfast about 8.30 and I'm good until about 1pm. I do get hungry, but it's a gradual process rather than the massive sugar cravings I used to have
