Wegovy questions

Hi
I'm 5'6 tall & weigh 14 stone. I'm 58 yrs old, menopausal & currently trying (another) HRT to help with regular hot sweats.

I have just completed the MedExpress questionnaire for Wegovy tablets. But have been put off, as it said once I'm down to a BMI of 28 I would have to discontinue treatment.
Is this true?

I currently have a BMI of 31, and would like to lose 3-4 stone. Is this not possible with MedExpress?

Apologies if I have misunderstood their questionnaire. I am trying to research weight loss drugs, but like many of us, am finding it confusing, as well as a bit daunting.

Thanks very much.

I don’t think the tablets have been approved for us in the UK.

I don’t think anyone cuts off treatment at BMI 28. Some at 25 and lots go lower than that. Med express I think is a bit black and white with the numbers. There are loads of pharmacies that are a bit more holistic and do maintenance programs etc.

I don’t think tablets are available it is injections only in the UK just now. Mounjaro or Wegovy. There is a Mounjaro price comparison site here and a link to the Wegovy prices on that page too and a list of maintenance friendly pharmacies.

Oushk, pharmulous and swift are maintenance specialist pharmacies and will go down to lower BMIs like 19. I'm with oushk and my bmi is currently 22.7. I'm also on wegovy but it's an injection.

Hi thanks for your reply, appreciated. I didn't know this. In the MedExpress questionnaire I had to choose tablets or injections. Good to know just injections.

Thanks for your reply, appreciated. I didn't realise this. I just completed the MedExpress questionnaire and I had to choose between tablets or injections. Proves I need to keep researching!

Thanks very much for your reply, appreciated. MedExpress seems a good price which is what interested me tbh. Have you used any yourself? What have your results been & any other advice? Thanks very much for the comparison link, I'll have a look at it now. I prefer the sound of Wegovy because it seems a slower weight loss. At 58 & with 4 stone to lose I want to go slow & exercise as well. Anything to reduce flabby skin, which I think is inevitable at my age & size, but I can but try.

Thanks very much for your reply. How has your experience been with Wegovy? - your weight loss, side effects & price. Have you tried other companies & other weight loss medications? All advice appreciated. Thanks again.

I’ve used both. Similar results for me. Slow weight loss and late onset side effects (ie they started months into my journey). Recently switched back to Mounjaro. I think it is slightly better. Wegovy is cheaper and better packaged. Definitely worth a try. I like Swift Doctor.

I have been on wegovy since September 2024 (age 50) started at bmi 28 and now bmi 19.8 with 4.5stone off. I was accepted as I had high blood pressure and cholesterol. Both of these things now in the normal range. I am weaning off now but could stay on a low maintenance dose.
i use Cosmedicare clinic they have been excellent. Only downside I have heard on med express is they can suddenly just stop providing you for a variety of reasons. No personal experience with them but have heard that a few times. Good luck to you.

Did you pick orlistat, there are no tablets, so won’t be wegovy.
