Giving away Christmas food gifts...

My weight is appropriate, has been stable for about a year. In addition, I am pre-diabetic, so I watch my diet quite carefully.

I tell all my family that I don't want any Christmas gifts... and I really don't. I have far too many clothes, far too much "stuff" in general.

Unfortunately, as well as the usual blizzard of "Christmas food", someone has given me a very large selection of "English delicacies"... clotted cream, shortbread, six-mini jars of jam, etc etc. The trouble is, I don't want all this stuff.

What I should REALLY do is throw it all in the garbage, or give it away, or something. But to whom?

Supermarket food bank donations? Stick it in a carrier bag and drop it in when you arrive.

We contacted the local food bank last week as DH came home from work with a large hamper of fruit cake, mince pies, shortbread in various flavours etc, tea, coffee, hot chocolate flakes… we already had plenty of treats in the house for Christmas. They gladly took it and said they try to add treats to packages over Christmas and new year.

Jams and short bread can go to the food bank.

Food bank collection points in supermarkets are widespread

Homeless services are also glad to take donations

Why would you throw it away when it’s perfectly edible. Give it to a food bank or other charity.

Thanks for the suggestions, I took them to a local "street kitchen" for the homeless.
