title, so this is more of a accountability post or something but I just MUST and want so insanely bad to lose 30lb by summer 26. I always yoyo the SAME god damn 20-30lb back and forth, this year summer is was thankfully on a low end and I remember weighing in at like 76kg (under 170lb) at one point and I felt great during these weeks, everything was great and I had actual confidence and I was OUTSIDE and I felt like I have a life!!!!!! And of course I messd it up again of course I cannot stick with it!!! my god 😭🙏

I always spiral and slide back thinking I am at maintenance now I deserved it I can allow myself this and that etc but guess what!!! I literally binge ate nonstop since end of september I am very serious it is terrifying I am eating everything in sight. I weighed at 93kg this week and while I know I can fluctuate etc I was 89kg or whatever under 90 just a month agoi feel like I lost all my progress. It makes no sense all I want is to lose the weight for good!!!!!!

I go from zero confidence anxiety level 100000 chubby hate myself to go everywhere be the calmest person on earth only because of my weight!!!!!! It is the only bad thing in my life and the biggest issue I do not understand it. I DID it, I literally did it I had it!!! And it's all lost and gone again and I amback to the punishment again. Please if any kind of god exists let me lose it again by next summer and please never go back I cannot stand it I am so crying mad at myself at everything it is not ok anymore I cnnot deal with it!!!! 😭

Can ANYONE please relate has anyone (with only SELF help!!!) gotten to that point where it actually lasts you try lose weight and it is finally worth it when it works and STAYS that way!!! 😭

WLI are your answer

Overtheatlantic · 23/12/2025 16:50

I’ve lost that since early July on Mounjaro. Another stone to go and then hopefully maintaining using my new habits.

In march 2022 I saw a picture of myself on holiday and thought I can never be this heavy again. Since then I've lost 5 stone and maintained since.
What helped was I decided no more dieting it had to be lifestyle changes because they needed to be something I could carry on long-term.
I cant exercise as I'm disabled so it was all on the food.
I did do IF for a bit to help my gut rather than diet as I have IBS. This helped both IBS and weightloss I think.
The main thing I did (and continue to do) is document all my calories. I meal plan each week and so know bought what I'm going to be eating.
I count my calories over a week so if I have a bad day it doesn't matter because I'll just alter how I eat the next day.
I batch cook and portion things so I always have something that just needs defrosting and heating. So no need to eat rubbish.
I have low calorie lunches such as homemade soups, tomatoes on toast so that I have enough calories throughout the day.
i keep snacks in the home to a minimum (and usuallyones i dont like!) I'm only short so lower calories needed, which doesn't help if you snack.
I went from a size 14/16 to a size 6 and continue to maintain by keeping to my weekly calorie count.
Everyone is different and you have to find what works for you. Taking wli wouldn't be for me as I'd probably have just gone back to my old eating habits after. I had to change how I ate in a way that was maintainable long term. Look at your lifestyle see what would work for you and go from there. Good luck.

I can 100% relate to everything you have written. My weight has yo-yoed my entire adult life. At my heaviest 18st, at my lowest just under 10st and everywhere in between!

I have managed to keep myself fairly stable over the last couple of years. I lost 4 stone in 2023/24. But having got to 11st 7lbs, I then put a stone back on at the beginning of this year! Recognising I was back on the slippery slope, I've been back on it, and losing slowly but surely. I really, really want to get back down to my target of 10 stone next year.

I am currently just over 11st (and no doubt will gain a bit over Christmas!).

I too, have found intermittent fasting helpful. Previously, I have attempted very low calorie diets and as a result I always end up falling off the wagon. Being mindful and making healthy lifestyle changes alongside IF has definitely been more beneficial and seems to have stopped the constant restrict-binge cycle.

I did it this year! Not sure why but something clicked and I stuck to the diet I started at the end of January and I’ve gone from a size 18 to a size 10! Intermittent fasting is what worked for me.

I can’t lie, I feel absolutely fantastic. I joined a gym too and my god do I look different. I keep photos of my progress although I only started taking the photos in March but even since then, the difference is incredible. I have a hidden album of photos in my underwear and a progress album of me on holiday before my weight loss and now. It’s a huge motivator!

My focus for this year has been eating for health and wellbeing rather than eating my feelings which I’ve spent my life doing and I think that’s what has made the difference. Stress, sadness, happiness, everything made me eat….now I focus on food that will fuel me, nothing more or less.

Next goal is to really reduce upf’s as much as possible. Tried this year but still some way to go.

Mounjaro. Lost 4 stone. Now weight 165lb

TFImBackIn · 23/12/2025 20:47

Mounjaro. I was 97.5 kg in June 2024 and have been just under 70 kg for the last nine or ten months. Absolutely lifechanging.

You can’t stop tracking. It’s for life.

suki1964 · 27/12/2025 15:02

I did it back in 2023 and this Christmas I didnt put a single pound on

I have spent ever since maintaining

I have finally said I am never going to diet ever again, Im at my happy weight and I refuse point blank to need to diet again

Sure there are times I gain, holidays , when we have family stopping over etc, but as soon as those periods of time are over, Im back to healthy eating - its just a way of life now at last.

I weigh and record every Saturday , Looking back at my records Im 4lb lower then I was this day last year

I now longer want the chocolate/cakes and pastries/and take aways Well maybe once every few months , but I now only eat small portions - till Im filled, not stuffed

No food is really off the menu, just now I naturally gravitate to food that is filling but lower in calories. So we go for a fry for breakfast, I have poached eggs, lean bacon, tomatoes beans and mushrooms - I skip the sausages , the toast, fried bread or whatever

We go out for a burger - I forgo the bun

Have a BBQ - I have trout, turkey burgers , halloumi , grilled veggies

I just cut out the unnecessary calories
