Anyone out there 5' 6" and a size 12 - would you mind telling me your weight?

I am slowly but surely losing weight after being overweight for 14 years. I am 5' 6", now weigh 11 stone 8 and can just about squeeze into a size 14, though look and feel better in my size 16s at the moment.

Feel free to call me shallow, but I have a goal to be a healthy size 12. So.... I just wondered what my goal weight should be to reach this size. It would give me a general target to aim towards and some extra inspiration.

Oh, I know there are other factors involved.... but I thought that at least having an idea of size 12 weights could give me some motivation.

Thank you very much!

I am 5'9 and size 12 and weigh about 10 and a half stone.

(I am also a 10 in Next)

I'm 5'6 and currently a 14 at just under 11 stone, but when I'm about 10 stone or a bit more I fit easily into size 12.

I suppose it depends on your build as well but it sounds like you don't have far to go.

I'm 5 '6" and similarly aiming to get back into my size 12s for the summer. I find anything under 10st7 does it for me although 10 stone is ideal. On the other hand, under 11 stone and you will be a Marks 12 in a lot of stuff!

Thanks again everyone - this has really given me hope that I have an attainable goal in sight. I definitely need to up the exercise though. Off for a walk right now.

Oh, and perhaps a trip to Next and M&S will be on the agenda!

I'm 5.9ish and weigh 10.9 but want to be 10stone really. I'm a twelve now but 10stone would mean I'd be a small 12 if that makes sense. But I agree this can differ loads from person to person. My friend who is the same height as me weighs nearly a stone more but is much slimmer, siz ten, very narrow hips etc whereas mine are huge. I look like I weigh loads more!

SugarBird · 09/06/2008 15:25

I'm 5'6 and weigh around 9st12 and am generally a size 12 but sometimes things can be a bit of a squeeze and I think that's because not enough of my weight is muscle - if I was more toned and the same weight I would be considerably trimmer iyswim .

hi

i am 5,4 and weigh 11 stone 5 ish

this wieght seeems to be maintainable for me so although i would like to be less i am not trying too hard

i fit into some size 12's, only if its tailored trousers or button up shirts i need a 14 or somtimes even a 16 in blouses as i have large boobs and also a large bottom, curvy my dh would say!

Wuxiapian · 12/07/2008 13:10

I'm 5'5. Until a year ago, I was 9st 9lbs - 10st and size 8/10.

Now, weight varies between 10st 4lbs and 10st 10lbs and size 10/12.

Sushipaws · 12/07/2008 13:22

I'm 5'6" and 10 stone (yay was my target weight), I'm a size 12 in most places but bizzarly a 10 in M&S.

Good luck, it's hard to loose weight but keeping it off is hard work too, I would know, I love biscuits toooooo much.

Tinker · 13/07/2008 00:20

I'm 5'6" and am a 10/12. Last time I weighed myself I was 9 1/2 stone which feels heavy to me (for me). I can fit Gap size UK 8 jeans though. I automatically buy 12s though if can't be bothered to try stuff on.

elkiedee · 08/08/2008 22:27

Although I'm only 5'2" I was size 12 at 10 stone - my weight dropped to 9 stone at one point, sadly some years ago (much fatter now!) But I think it must depend a lot on build and proportions - for my height I have longish legs and a very short body.

Hi, I'm 5ft 6 and a high street (next/river island/marks and Spencer) size 12. However I'm 13st, so a lot heavier than you guys, I'm quite active so maybe is muscle. Anyhow, just wanted to help, good luck on your journey

Menora · 08/01/2024 19:26

I am 5’5 and 12st 5 and I can only just get into a size 12 on bottom and it’s v tight. I think I will be an easier size 12 at 11st. I am a size 12 up top but a size larger on bottom half. But somewhere like Zara I might still be a large. Depends on the shop and fit of clothes

Smartmove · 08/01/2024 21:09

When I weighed 10.8 at 5 ft 6 I was fitting into size 12 just

for now I think 10.3 will see me fitting into them nicely and comfortably with some give.
