Losing the same ten pounds a third time this year!

So I lost around 65 pounds for my brother’s wedding abroad. I gained it during Covid and just ended up completely addicted to food which I never was previously.

Anyway, I lost it mainly by calorie counting.

I gave myself a little time off from dieting post wedding (still have around 20 pounds to lose). I must have regained at least 20 pounds but I have been good the past 6 weeks or so and am back down to only being 10 pounds above my heaviest.

im just so sick of the yo yo ing. Its exhausting. This is the third time ive had to lose this 10 pounds this year (gained weight during holiday also).

I have pcos so weight gain is easy and loss is very very slow.

Just needing to vent

I wish I could take a glp 1 but my gallbladder is fucked as it is. Can’t risk it

I guess I can say I’m proud of myself because if I hadnt forced myself back on the scales I could easily have been up 20 pounds. I was feeling much much larger and dejected about 6 weeks ago when tops stopped fitting me. I’m back in control and mindful of what I eat

I get you - I still need to lose a stone and a half after losing a stone and a half (probably a bit more as I think I was heavier than I was admitting to at my heaviest).

Menopausal and it's hard and slow.

So I've had a bit of a mind shift and decided I'm going to go for healthy instead. As that's my main reason for needing to lose it - Covid piled it on and then some after I'd been relatively slim up to then - and my blood pressure shot up to scary levels.

So I've joined a gym - do weights 2 to 3 times a week in a small group class, of mostly middle aged women.

I'm consciously eating more fibre, more veg, cooking more at home, drinking less alcohol, limiting cheese and crisps that are my downfall - basically feeding myself with the good stuff.

It feels sustainable and manageable.

I'm going to add in more walking as my back is seizing up from desk job - I walk a lot in the summer - find it harder in the winter.

Be kind to yourself - you've done it once you can do it again

Oh dear. Yo yo dieting is really bad for you op. Maybe get advice from an eating disorders specialist.

I think take it slow, identify the things which cause you to put it back on, then tackle each of those things properly, one by one. Allow a month to get to grips with each bad habit, according to research.

I hear you OP. I lost 1.5 stone at the start of the year, and have put about a stone back on. For me it’s about how busy I am at work- find myself eating instead of sleeping….

I’d like to end the year back at the 1.5 stone loss I’d made by May, but it’s so dispiriting to have to lose it “again”….

TiredofLDN · 04/11/2025 10:03

And then need to lose another 1.5 stone to be where I want! 😂
