Will more sleep help me lose weight?

I average 6-7 hours sleep a night (normally closer to 6) and I’m struggling to lose weight.

Has anyone found increasing sleep helps them lose weight?

Sleep is important, but so is getting your nutrition right. Your days eating example has barely any protein. Protein is key to stop you feeling hungry, I’ve learnt this recently. Upping my protein massively has had a huge impact on my hunger levels.

I used sleep hypnosis on YouTube to cut down/out sugar. It really works!

@LustyLisa I’d also definitely be including eggs in your diet, as a good source of protein and fat - egg curry is a favourite for me!

Edited to add: also great for breakfast alternatives - fried eggs with fried mushrooms/tomatoes, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, cheese omelette

Sleep definitely plays a role in weight loss since it helps balance your hormones and reduces cravings. But honestly, without proper diet and regular exercise, it won’t make much difference. It’s more like the missing puzzle piece, not the whole picture.🙃

Thank you everyone. I thought my diet was pretty great (except the chocolate) so this is eye opening.

i do add 25g of whey protein on days that i workout (4-5 x per week) but sounds like I still need to cut carbs and up protein.
