Any recommendations for best way to lose over 10 stone while on Aripiprazole and Fluoxetine?

I am currently a UK dress size 26/28 and 5ft4. I must weight over 20 stone but I am too scared to get myself weighed. I am on 15mg Aripiprazole daily and 20mg Fluoxetine daily due to suffering from long term mental health conditions. I work 8am to 7pm every weekday and feel so tired at the end of the day that I just end up ordering takeaways most days. I was considering taking Mounjaro but don't know if I'd be eligible. Nearly ten years ago, I lost some weight through Slimming World and I am considering joining Slimming World again. However, I was not on the medication I'm on now so don't know if that'd affect me losing the weight. Don't really know a way forward.

You’d certainly be able to get Mounjaro on a private prescription but it’s hard to get it on the NHS. You would need a BMI over 40 (which you do have if you weigh 20st) but also four out of five of the listed health issues.

If you can afford Mounjaro it is definitely worth a go - so many unhappy and unhealthy lives are being transformed. (And if you are spending a lot on takeaways then that might be a way to manage it financially.) But if not then SW might be a good bet if you have succeeded with it before. Maybe you could also address the practical problems - what can you do to make the takeaway order less likely - could you have something ready to be heated up, batch cook healthy stuff at the weekend and build up a stash of meals in the freezer? So on work days you can eat well but without having to faff about making something.

I've gone the weight loss injection route and I was prediabetic. But you can try tracking your food using an app like myfitnesspal which will give you target calories to stick to.
Increase your water intake and protein intake, lower carb is the best for weight loss and maintaining muscle. Think cottage cheese, meat, fish, egg, vege protein, dairy, high protein yoghurts, nuts, avocado etc.
For example, for lunch I had a protein wrap with 5 chicken slices, avocado, beetroot and applewood cheese in and cottage cheese on the side. If it was a work day I'd have something from canteen, probably hot meal but limit carbs, even an omelette with steam veg is a good option.
I haven't had takeaways, biscuits, cakes or pasta in a year! I work long hours full time and commute 2-3hrs a day so I'm not into cooking meals unless it's the weekend so my air fryer is my best friend. I buy frozen packs of chicken skewers, chicken burgers, fish etc and have them with onion rings, sweet potato or steam veg etc I also buy high protein ready meals which are available everywhere these days. It will save you so much money compared to takeaways too and probably quicker than waiting for a takeaway!
Also I'd recommend liquid berberine, it suppresses the appetite and lowers blood sugar, I use it as I'm tapering down my doses and it really helps curb the hunger and cravings. I'm only eating 1100-1300 cals a day but I am at bmi 23.5 now, wouldn't expect you to have that!
Basically if you cut down on bread, pasta and rice you will probably see a massive difference just doing that. Keep sipping water to keep you full inbetween meals and gave healthier snacks.

Weight loss surgery- if you weigh 20 stone or more you may be eligible on the NHS.

I had weight loss surgery and J can honestly say it is the best thing to happen to me for health reasons. I was morbidly obese before surgery with over 10 stone to lose.

Be aware though, if you do opt for weight loss surgery it isn't an easy option, as some people like to make out. It is a tool to help you lose weight and become healthier it is not a magic bullet! You will need counselling to address your reasons for being obese and to ensure you can cope with it, as it is life changing.

Surgery means no fizzy drinks, eating small portions ( tea plate size.) for the rest of your life and taking vitamins for life too.

i can have the occasional sweet thing, but in tiny proportions. For example a small square of chocolate after a meal once a week if I want it.

Have a conversation with your gp if you are considering surgery.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.
