What options

After years of struggling with yoyo weight loss, ranging from low carb, WW, etc i am back to a really unhealthy weight (high) wondering what is the best option out there. I am a carer for my gorgeous albeit demanding autistic DS as well as having a tough full time job. I am a bit of a food addict, sometimes eating for no reason, buying a packet of something sweet and finish it in 2 minutes without realising, not even feeling down, it's eating for the sake of eating.I am not looking for a quick fix but wish for a durable option that will keep me healthy to look after my boy. Any wisdom shared would be appreciated

The most durable option is one that you can consistently stick to in the long term, so methods that you have used before and not managed to implement long term are probably not right for you.

If you calorie count and aim for a small daily deficit of 200 to 300 calories, you will gradually lose weight. How you stick to that calorie deficit depends on what works well for you. Aiming for a slow but steady rate of loss may help you stick to it longer term.

If your weight is in the obese range, or overweight with any weight related health conditions, then weight loss injections might be an option to consider if your finances make that possible. They knocked the mindless eating on the head for me pretty much immediately.

I found my local Slimming world the best thing I ever did. I got 12 weeks free on the NHS so ask your GP surgery if they still do this. You have to stay for the meetings which make ALL the difference and are great fun. I made some really good friends as well. I had yoyo'd and tried WW and lots of diets but with SW I could eat lots, never felt hungry and could we even have a drinking the evening. The meal plan suited my entire family so I just cooked the same for everyone & they liked the recipes. Give it a go, it's much more user friendly than WW.
Good luck.
