So enough is enough, I always seem to find a reason to put off diets till tomorrow. So today is the start of a new focus (motivated by a holiday!).

Everyone who wants to make a change today then lets all join together now. What better date than the first of June?

Hello ladies, may I join you?

I'm 5'4" and 11st 2lb currently. I'd like to get down to 10st 7lb, that was the weight I was in between DS1 and getting pregnant with DS2. I still have those clothes I bought in 'the summer I was slim' 2006 and I'd like to be wearing them this year.

Usual downfalls for me are wine, cheese and chocolate .

wheelybug · 02/06/2008 18:12

Toadette - are you doing one of the Cancer Research run10K's ? If you fancy some moral support with your training there is a great thread which started as a RFL thread to get people to 5K but many of us have gone on from there. Its great motivation ! Anyone's welcome if anyone else runs/ wants to start running.

I am hoping to run 4 times a week which is the max I can get out without running 3 days in a row.

toadette · 02/06/2008 18:33

Yes it's one of the Cancer Research 10k runs in September, Wheelybug. I'll look out for that thread as it'll be great to have some extra support. I'm currently running 3.5 miles a couple of times a week, dinny. But I'm hoping to up this to 3 or 4 times a week, maybe doing a combination of two increasingly longer runs and a couple of short runs inbetween. Like most people, it's hard to find the time to fit in the extra running so I might have to get up earlier and run before dh and dc's are up and about.

I'm afraid it will be tomorrow before I start back into the dieting. I'm going to have a chinese takeaway tonight and maybe a couple of glasses of wine as a last blowout tonight. Will definitely be in diet mode from tomorrow morning though, I promise

I had a good day yesterday as well - no wine!

Kept my carbs fairly low, and limited the snacking to a small handful of nuts.

Still caffeine free as well (to deal with my indigestion/heartburn) but still suffering from the acid reflux, which isn't very nice.

I was a pound up today though, but I think that reflects a badly behaved Sunday

More worryingly, I'm out on Thursday night for a meal with some ex work colleagues - we get together every 6 months or so, always for a Chinese and it's always very drunken. I'm trying to plan my strategies for avoiding too many carbs (hard at a Chinese) and keeping away from/minimising the alcohol.

meimango · 03/06/2008 09:50

yes... all this running is great! tho will stick to walking for now.

Have also done my weekly shop and meals, inthesky. My hazard is portion sizes and too many carbs. i have an extremely tall and skinny dh and over the years have fallen into the trap of trying to match him spoon for spoon! On my shrimpy frame, its all got to go somewhere!

I'm in e.finchley COV, so lots of walks for me around highgate woods and heath - must stay away from the park kiosk and kenwood! Surrey peeps too... it IS a small world - mnetters everywhere!

Now to find a way to stop my hair frizzing on these rainy walks...

toadette · 03/06/2008 10:20

Morning all

Starting into the diet this morning as promised. I'm going to do a Slimming World original day and keep to low carb/high protein foods today. Seem to snack much less on these days. No alcohol now until weekend and will drink loads of water.

No exercise planned for today except a LOT of cleaning this morning. I might try to get a walk later if I've time.

Happy dieting, girls

dinny · 03/06/2008 13:03

Hello, I am starting today too.

Have been to gym and done an hour on the treadmill, just had soup and sandwich and plan to have fish and vegetables and glass of red wine later. And NOTHING more than that!!!

hello all

Lucewheel - are you a Lucy? I am

right, I ended up having sardine (only one left after kids had eaten them!) and veg for tea, then a yogurt.

I had a third of a bottle of red wine later in the evening, but as hadn't eaten much tea I had 4 Ryvita and low-fat humous, annoyingly. must eat more at tea-time to stop me snacking in evening!!

no running today as periody and BLEURGH

how's everyone else?

Hi All ! Reporting in...

Monday I did really well - eat well and did a 5K run

Tuesday - eat well although had a major slip half way through the day when someone had sent me some chocolate brazil nuts which i scoffed but,

a) period is due (and have been ttc for an awfully long time so that gets me double pre-period chocolate scoffing points )
b) I only had an omlette and salad for dinner
c) they did have brazil nuts in the middle so had an element of healthiness (clutches at straws emoticon)

Today - so far so good, eating has been exemplary and I did a 7.5K run

And... I have stayed off wine so far in the evening.

Hope to get another run in tomorrow (probably 5K).

sophierosie · 05/06/2008 20:56

I'm doing ok this week so far but have been having major chocolate cravings despite not actually being a massive choc fan!

Am doing the ww 'no-count' plan as I find it easier to shop using the list of free foods and then use the 21 points allowance for wine! I'm going to just try and have a glass of wine at weekends though from now on!

I'm also cutting out bread as it really bloats me out - which means a really exciting lunch of rice cakes and philidelphia!

Well done Lucewheel.

Ok, weighing in this morning at 10 stone 2lbs. At one point (friday I think ?) I was edging towards 10stone but seems to have settled back up at 10 stone 2lbs. Ah well... still a 2lb loss this week.

Ran 4 times last week of between 5- 7.5K distances each. Hoping for same this week although started some drugs which are making me feel v. tired so will see how we get on. Want to still get out 4 times even if I don't run as far just to keep going (and drugs finish Wednesday for the time being).

7 weeks until holiday !

ComeOVeneer · 09/06/2008 10:05

Hi all. Not popped in for a few days. Have been doing fairly well. Have cycled to and from nursery to drop off/collect ds all week, eaten well (apart from yesterday- had a big bbq and some wine at IL's). Have shed 3lbs YAY!

hello - forgot to check this thread!
So far I have managed to lose 4lbs - hurrah - I've kept a food diary which has really helped to keep track of everything I've eaten - I haven't done any exercise as have a stinking cold - but managed to keep away from the chocolate my dh brought home this afternoon!

wheelybug · 14/06/2008 10:31

Thanks Luce - I'm not too bad really and the good news is this week I have run my socks off and been v. careful with food and have lost another 4 lbs. So am now .... fanfare .... 9 stone 12 lbs . I have not been under 10 stone since erm...... god knows. So a 6 lb loss since the start of June. Yippee !!

Posting this know in case I blow it over the weekend. Although my big weakness is wine and we are at friends for dinner tonight and we have the option of staying the night of me driving home so think I will drive to keep me away from the wine.

Hope everyone else is doing ok - well done on the weight losses and hope the cross trainer is up and working soon Luce.
