Just that - I am a hypnotherapist who has finally succeeded in losing several stones (and giving up smoking) over the last two years. I have done bits and bobs of hypnotherapy around my existing career over the last few years but would now like to move into doing it full-time.
My idea is to focus on weight loss support for other women, both / either one-to-one and in small groups.
Benefits of one-to-one - it can be very bespoke, every session designed for that particular client’s needs.
Benefits of groups - cheaper, peer support. I think for the groups there would be a particular topic each week, like motivation and willpower, perfectionism, managing cravings and urges, self image etc. People could sign up for a course of sessions, or individual ones that are particularly relevant to them.
Sessions would consist of exploring a particular topic, figuring out ways of approaching specific issues with help from the psychological literature, and some hypnotherapy to help reinforce solutions. The method of weight loss wouldn’t really matter, although I could offer some sessions specific to eg fasting etc if needed. I am not a dietician or PT and so would definitely not be advising on what to eat or how to exercise. You choose how you want to lose weight and I support you with the psychological aspects and help you achieve consistent behaviours to reach your goals.
Price points would be maybe around £75 per session for one-to-one and £25 per session for group (maybe 6-8 people). Sessions would take place online. I have a busy few months coming up but after that would be finishing off planning / devising sessions and writing scripts. Then I would run some testing, offering free support sessions / hypnotherapy in return for some feedback. Hoping that would take place next summer.
Over the years I have tried almost everything to lose weight - fasting, low carb, keto, cabbage soup, weight watchers, Zoe, WLI (albeit briefly), dodgy pills off the internet, juice diet, Joe Wicks. This time I added hypnotherapy to what I was doing and it made a big difference I think.
Thanks for reading - does anyone think that could be useful? What do you think?
Thank you 🙏
