Early morning flight - snacks

Off on my holidays in a week's time. Our flight is 6am. Normally at that time I'd have something in the airport but I really don't fancy that this time around. What would you bring to eat on the plane instead. I've been eating lots of eggs and cottage cheese but not sure that would go down very well with fellow passengers!!

How long is the flight? If less than three hours I wouldn’t eat anything.

Plump82 · 15/08/2025 14:57

Just over 3 but I definitely need to eat as get pretty bad travel sick which is worse on an empty stomach. I'll have been up since just before 2am and won't arrive at our destination till probably 12:30pm.

Make pancakes.

Whip an egg and two tablespoon of cream cheese. They make fab low carb pancakes.

Plump82 · 15/08/2025 15:00

Oh good idea!! Do you use flour?

Pot of yoghurt or a Bircher muesli pot, rice cakes with peanut butter or cream cheese.

Plump82 · 15/08/2025 15:40

I was wondering about yoghurt then thought would that class as liquid. I guess I could buy something like that on Boots after security.

I take roasted edamame beans and crudités

Vodkamartini3olives · 15/08/2025 15:56

For early morning travel I like a banana & some rice cakes with peanut butter. If there's a Starbucks I pick up an oatmeal pot with some Cinnamon & honey.

A croissant amd some fruit? Book food on the plane?

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 15/08/2025 16:05

I take granola bars, bananas and nuts.

LupaMoonhowl · 15/08/2025 16:10

Lidl mixed nuts with dried olives
Lidl protein bacon crisps

Mixed nuts and dried olives sounds interesting...and tasty!
Bananas and rice cakes sound great too!

I'm not a huge fan of airplane food and with me trying to lose weight it's really not the healthiest?

I sometimes take peanut butter on decent bread but have something as back up because on my last 2 flights all nuts have been prohibited due to a passenger with a nut allergy.
I took hard boiled eggs. I don't think anyone was bothered by them 🤷🏻‍♀️

countdowntonap · 15/08/2025 16:42

The airport shops sell lots of different yogurts, and pots of boiled eggs or chopped veggies like carrots.

Yes, was thinking that. I tend to avoid anything peanut wise. My niece has a peanut allergy so it's always on the back of my mind.
