Help me please.
I just started four days ago and want to know should I be eating like I would if just started a diet or just not think about anything and listen to body.

Try and eat healthy balanced meals. I definitely have reduced the snacking so take this opportunity to eat less. I also reduced all processed foods. Go with your hunger signals but make sure you are eating enough because starvation is not the goal!! Do not make the mistake of overeating spicy or fatty foods because the consequences can be horrible in terms of tummy upsets!!

I put the work in on top of taking mj. My calorie allowance is low because I'm short and I'm trying to stay on as low a dose as I can. Been on it since November 24 and am about half a stone away from my goal weight. I really focus on good nutrition so I get all everything my body needs. I avoid greasy food as it really upsets my system on mj.

I thought you didn’t think of how or what you ate initially though and then your body naturally feels full/satisfied and then you start to make better choices not that you diet from start if that makes sense?

Eat balanced: Focus on protein at every meal 20-30g, plenty of salad/veg, healthy fats, and complex carbs. Keep sugar low and cut out UPF to work with Mounjaro and reduce cravings. Try smaller plates/meals and go back if needed so you don't waste lots of food.

If you struggle to get enough protein in you can top up with a protein drink, but whole foods are much better.

Listen to your body: Pay attention to hunger, satiety. Eat mindfully at each meal and your portions will probably shrink without much effort, which shows Mounjaro is doing it's thing. If never feel physically full at a meal, I lose interest in it and stop enjoying it, so stop at that point.

Track the basics: For the first few weeks, use an app to check calories, macros, and water (try to get up to a least 2L/day) to get a baseline of what a balanced day looks like. If you’re struggling to eat enough, add something like mixed nuts, not filling but calorie dense.

Taste changes happen: I lost interest in fatty or sugary foods and enjoy more simple, fresh meals without too much effort - I have never eaten and enjoyed so much bloody salad and veg, also eat a lot more fish. I have no problems with spicy foods (love a spicy chicken kebab and chilli sauce from the takeaway), others do, so tentatively give them a go.

It's up to you the approach you take. I have treated it like a diet with the support of mj. I do see posts from people wondering why they're not losing weight when they haven't calculated their calorie needs and aren't tracking but others are probably taking the same approach and losing, but they wouldn't be asking for advice. As long as you're in deficit you'll lose. It's great stuff. Good luck!

If you respond to the medication quickly you might not need to think about it, some respond quickly and struggle to eat in the first weeks until their body gets used to it. This is not necessarily a good thing if you eat to little and your body is deprived of the nutrients it needs so you need to be mindful.

Others the effects are more subtle on lower doses but enough, if they work with it, to make it easier to support a calorie deficit longer term.

IMO not thinking about it and working with it, especially in the early days is a lost opportunity to understand how it is working for you, how you are working with it and potentially means you increase doses quicker than is necessary. Some people absolutely do need to move up doses as they don't respond on lower doses, it won't be long before you need to decide which pen you are buying next - stick with 2.5mg for another month or increase to 5mg?

Im still eating well but definitely less but have still had sweet stuff but don’t feel as desperate for it as I usually do.

If you really want this to work you need to put lots of effort in. Eat things around your protein every meal. This might mean you eat the same things all the time. For example I eat Greek yoghurt and granola and berries and salmon and salad and eggs almost every day.
This will hopefully give me all the fats and proteins I need to not lose loads of hair.

also, it’s worth looking at what supplements you should be taking. And whilst a pizza every few weeks or a cake once a week is fine and part of being normal, I wouldn’t be eating lots of sweet things if I was genuinely committed to losing weight, so I certainty wouldn’t be eating them if I was paying £180+ per month to be losing weight (plus gym membership & all the supplements & salmon ;-)

finally, you need to strength train a few times a week. Otherwise it will take your muscles and not your fat.

I researched and researched the top tips before I started as I really didn’t want to lose muscle or hair. I haven’t lost either as far as I can tell. Ive lost 1.5 stone in 9 weeks and had 3 stone to lose when I started. I don’t track calories or macros.
