Snacks for fussy eaters (adult)

If you’re a fussy eater what healthy snacks for you eat to keep you going in between meals?

Ive been fussy my whole life and whilst I’m better than I was when I was a child, I am what I am. It’s mainly a texture issue for me, but of course would rule out most of the healthy options.

I don’t like much fruit and veg options are limited. I can’t stand nuts. I like yoghurt but don’t find it particularly filling.

I end up snaffling crisps and whatever other junk I can get my hands on throughout the day.

I need some inspiration for things I can make sure I have in the house or keep at work that will fill me up enough that I don’t make any excuse I can come to go to Tesco and buy a bag of chocolate buttons.

If you’re fussy, what’s your go to?

You probably need to up your protein so you don’t need to snack but we do. We are having chicken skewers (Iceland around 100 calories) which is far better than crisps or chocolate. Also hard boiled eggs, we pretty much always have some ready to snack on just in case.

If I really do need something sweet, we have a selection of fibre bars from Asda, we get the blueberry and chocolate brownie ones. About 70 calories. Probably not great nutrition but gives me a bit of sweet.

Shame you don’t like nuts, as a handful of mixed nuts each evening has really helped us too.

Thanks. I wish I liked nuts because so many people say how helpful they are, I just can't.

I might try the hard boiled egg and see how I find that.
