Starting The Britalian Diet on Monday - going to make an accountability thread

Hi everyone - I used to be on here loads but have managed to get myself completely locked out. It's been years so I don't even remember my username or which email I used to sign up! 🙄think im going a bit senile.

Anyway - in those years, I have gone from being a bit soft around the edges to being well into the obese category 😔But I can't face the diets I used to do to get rid of it. I bought a load of shakes the other week and ended up chucking them all out as I couldn't face them. They all taste the same and they're all gross. I'm about 210 pounds now (not sure what that is in stones - sorry).

I'm going to start The Britalian Diet on Monday - I bought the book a couple of days ago. Has anyone else followed it? I did have a look and couldn't find any threads (sorry if ive missed one!) I'm going to try and check in here every week as I've done that in the past and it has been quite good at keeping me accountable.

Wish me luck! 😬

Still sticking with the 1400 version of The Britalian Diet - it's actually going alright! I’ve had a couple of slightly off-plan days (too much pizza happened on one of the nights 🙃) but just got back to it the next day and didn’t let it spiral.

Still about 3 lbs down, but I’m not too focused on the scales - I just feel better. Definitely less bloated, more steady energy, and I’ve even managed a couple of walks, which is a win considering I’d barely moved for weeks.

Biggest change is that I don’t feel like I’m dieting, which is new for me. Just eating proper meals and trying to keep things balanced. Hope everyone else is getting on okay.

So, first proper weigh in this morning (does Mumsnet have a weigh-in thread - can't see one but I'm not the best at finding these things!) Anyway, I am down SIX POUNDS!! 😮I'm now 204 pounds.

I know it's because I've got a decent amount to lose and it's probably a lot of water weight but it's still so motivating to see such a big change in the first week. My jeans feel a tiny but looser this morning so I think I'm less bloated as well.

I've eaten so many things I wouldn't normally eat on a diet this week - croissants, cappuccinos, pasta, pizza, a few glasses of wine and I had a scoop of the nicest lemon gelato last night (I spotted it in Aldi and had to buy some). Absolutely loving it.

Aim this week = stick to the plan and get more walks in.

I hope everyone else has had a good week and weekend! 🙂

Sorry that I've been a bit quiet - it has been a crazy week with the kids and works, I find it difficult to get on here sometimes! Will try harder this week though.

I've found The Britalian Diet way of eating quite easy this week as it has been so warm, you could almost imagine you were somewhere in the Med! I've had loads of salads, snacky plates with olives, parma ham, veggies and nice bread etc. Pizza and some nice pasta dishes as well. My favourite has been the creamy lemony spaghetti one from the book. Really simple (thought it might be too basic tbh) but it was gorgeous.

Anyway - weighed in this morning and very happy to be another 2 pounds down, especially as I had a couple of wines and a few more snacks than usual last night. Woohoo!

Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying the lovely summer weather! 😊
