I am struggling with weight loss mixture desk job and age is the problem I think. I go to the gym and attempt to get 10k steps in but weight doesn’t move.

DH and in-fact most friends and family i have mentioned this to. are against it… but mounjaro. Would it be wrong to start it and not tell anyone mainly DH.

Hello! I'm in a very similar situation to you; I mainly WFH/get around 8k steps with drop off/pick ups with the kids each day. I also have a knee problem that makes certain exercises tricky.

I started Mounjaro 4 weeks ago, and only my husband knows. That was mainly as a "by the way I'm going to have this ongoing extra personal expenditure"/don't freak out if you see me injecting myself 😆 rather than asking if he felt it was a good idea or not.

It's for your benefit only, it would only be unreasonable for anyone else to feel they should have a say on it :)

You won't lose weight through exercise, well not alone. Weight is lost through diet.

If you qualify for it (BMI in the obese range, 30 or higher or 27 or higher for certain ethnicities) then of course it’s not wrong to try it. It’s also ok not to tell your DH or anyone else if they would be unsupportive. You might find it hard to explain the reduction in appetite and any possible side effects though.

What would be the reaction if you told your DH that you will be starting it, and that you know he isn’t in agreement but it’s important for your health to try? No one outside of you and your DH has any need to know though.

Weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise so going to the gym and walking 10000 steps won’t do the job alone.

It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s been 3 months and I have lost 22lb. I don’t calorie count and am only moderately active, but eat small portions of healthy food, and do not drink much alcohol any more.

I have a long way to go yet, but am confident I can get to my target weight, and will stay there.

no one knows I’m on mounjaro expect the pharmacy who prescribe it.

Ok maybe the cat as she is my shadow and there when I inject

Life is too short - if you meet the criteria and cannot lose any other way then do it.

Mounjaro is bloody amazing. I feel like this is how 'normal' people must feel, able to not be hungry all the time, not have the urge to eat, not thinking about food all the time etc
