To go back on mounjaro again? 2 stone to lose?

Before Christmas I was 15st. I then went onto mounjaro stopped after 4 weeks then restarted due to health at time. I’ve been on it since but then off again due to other stuff. I’m now at 13st 4 and 5ft6 and have managed to lose since coming off but very slowly. I have some meh weeks :(

I’d ideally like to get to 11 stone by June/July but unsure if this is possible, do I restart mounjaro again but seems I’d have to go back on 2.5 but didn’t find effective on last go, but know thats more a build up dose, I’m hoping would only need to do this short term (maybe 1 month on 2,5 then 5) or no is it possible to lose this another way? Is there a group chat or somewhere I can get held accountable, so I don’t slip up.

I know calorie def and 10k steps is best, I did think of PT but unsure if they’re best suited as I have chronic pain so gym would maybe aggravate. But is there someone else out there profession that pushes you, does weigh ins, meal plans etc (is it more a mindset nutrition coach or is the pt best) if I went down this route!

Unsure what to do! Thanks

I think you need to commit to one approach and plan to stick with it until you reach your goal. Whether that’s Mounjaro or another weight loss approach.

In the Weight Loss Injections / Treatments board there are threads for people starting Mounjaro each month. You could join the May one and use that as an accountability group. I post my weekly updates on the thread for the month I started (July 2024) as I like to keep track of where I’m up to, whether it’s a loss, stay the same or a gain.

In terms of using a professional, you could try a dietician perhaps?

Yeah definitely, I think my mental health I’m struggling which to pick and stick with. I’m also scared of side effects like first time round again or something going wrong (health anxiety) I just feel I’m also impatient which know is an issue as know won’t be an overnight thing. After all the years of being overweight etc. I know who whichever will be life change. I’ll have a wee look at that board! Thank you :)

I think that short term use of Mounjaro isn't typical or intended. Most obese people will have a decent amount of weight to lose, at 1 to 2 pounds per week. So for you to go from 13st 4lbs to 11st would be a timescale of around 16 weeks, at a rate of losing 2 pounds per week. Approximately 4 months. It isn't realistic to think you could do that by June to July and it will put you under unnecessary pressure. If you can't keep up with a high rate of weight loss you will become disheartened and risk falling off your diet and getting super stressed.

I think you should think about looking at this as a long term permanent change to your lifestyle rather than a somewhat panicked quick fix approach.

Thanks so much. Definitely in panic mode, just every summer I hide in baggy clothes and think I’ll be summer ready. I guess I’m less than last year so thats a win!
