Accuracy of online TDEE calculators

I've just tried to work out my TDEE and all the calculators online are saying that it is around 1865.
If I was to eat that every day I would be the size of a house.
How accurate are these online calculators as they all seem to put my TDEE in the same ball park?

Well, how tall and heavy are you?

1800 a day's isn't a huge amount.... If you're 6'2 or it's massive amount of your 4'5"

It doesn't sound a lot to me unless you're very small or inactive. Mine is around 2200 and if I could stick to anywhere near that amount I'd be a lot slimmer.

Varies massively from person to person, not just based on their height but also build, muscle mass, activity levels, age... Mine usually put me around 1500 and that's v low for me.

Honestly I don't think calculators are that useful. Far better to track your calories, without changing anything, for 2 weeks. When you know how much/how little you're eating, start adjusting from there.

I’m 5’ 7” and weigh 136lbs.
Also 48 and peri menopausal.
I do 5 fitness classes a week and try and do at least one 10km walk a week.
i’ve been tracking my calories for a while now and have lost 4 1/2 stone.
I just find that if I eat over 1200 calories a day then I put weight on especially around my stomach area.
