If you're 5'4'' how many calories do you eat to maintain weight?

As title says really. I've lost nearly 3 stone since the summer, and have just another few to go after not tracking over Xmas. I'm currently 9stone 4lbs and want to get to just under 9stone before maintaining. My weight has always gone up and down, but I am determined not to put it back on this time.
I was thinking of following a similar diet to what I'm on now during the week (1200calories) and having the weekend off. Could this work or do I need to track everything forever 😩

So I'm probably looking at about 1600-1700 to maintain? I've heard of 'skinny fat' recently too. With clothes on I look quite slim, skinny legs, not much of a bum. A couple of people have told me I don't need to lose any more. Why do people have to comment ? But naked it's awful. Saggy hanging down belly. Looks like I need to do some ab exercises then. Bit depressing after doing so well to be honest 😂

I'm in the same weight band and finding the last few pounds SO difficult. I think if I really want to lose them I have to walk 15000 steps a day, 16:8 fasting and make sure I'm about 1400 kcals or under in the eating window.

Gosh - it’s just such hard work!

I think if we're restricting calories severely, we're doing something wrong.

I did slimming world, the one where you go to weigh ins - and most weeks I ate more on that diet than I usually do. Just, a somewhat limited range of things. Lost weight easily enough when I bothered to stick it.

Definatly need to diet again soon though, think I'm about 9 stone 4 atm and I'm only 5ft 1 or 2ish. Much of it seems to have accumulated around my middle too it seems xD

Good luck to all!

@CeffylCoch ab exercises don't do much to change the look of a belly, especially if it's related to factors like pregnancy (apologies if its not in your case, just that's a common reason for the shape) Strength/weight training might be worth looking into though.

Fwiw I'm slightly shorter than you and when I was 55kg and a size 8 my maintenance was around 1500 calories. These days I'm usually 60-63kg, a size 10 and and maintenance is at least 2000 average, possibly higher. That's because I have built muscle through years of strength training. If you saw me you probably wouldn't think I 'worked out' (I'm not lean enough to show the muscle definition). It makes a big difference day to day though, I remember when I was smaller I couldn't maintain and eat meals out, which was just depressing! Having a higher calorie 'allowance' is very freeing, but it does mean a mindset shift as putting weight on (even if it's more muscle than fat) is something we're conditioned to think of as a failure.

Yes definitely pregnancy related. Had two children and been at least 4 stone heavier than I am now a few times

I'm 5'4" and about 60kg at present (which is heavy for me). I eat around 1600 calories a day.

2025GB · 11/01/2025 10:05

It’s about 1300 for me at 5’4’’. I have started putting on weight for the first time in my life so I am trying to be careful as if I go over 9 stone I look dumpy as I am small framed with sturdy legs. Ideally I would like to be 8 stone 10 and stick there.

5'4" and borderline underweight with a bmi of 18.5. I eat 2000 calories a day and struggle to increase weight (either muscle or fat). Thyroid is fine. I strength train 3 x a week and only eat whole foods/limit sugar. Before I started strength training and a healthy diet I maintained on around 1500.
