Have gained slowly over the years and need to lose half a stone

I weighed myself today for the first time in a while, and i'm 8st 4lb at 5ft 1. Which is a healthy Bmi, however i'm very petite and small framed so not comfortable with it.

I used to always be able to eat what I wanted and stay slim but are those days finally over? I was about 7st 6lb as a teenager, 7st 10lb in 2012, 8 stone in 2023 and now 8st 4lb!! The heaviest I've ever been. I am 35 years old, never been pregnant or had children. No medical conditions I'm aware of. I work in a shop, so I guess this could be considered light exercise? I have always been in retail, that hasn't changed. Neither have my eating habits massively.

I don't snack excessively and thought what I ate was ok, but maybe not?

I have no idea where to start on trying to lose half a stone, as I didn't have to do it before, not seriously anyway. I also want to do it in a way that is sustainable, I'm not the biggest fan of salads and the like so I know eating that for the rest of my life won't work. I also like eating out. I thought about the gym, but feel silly because I don't know what machine to even use to lose the weight I need to lose. I carry the weight on my bottom half.

Would counting calories be enough? Can I eat things like Pizza and Pasta and still lose weight? Would I eventually need to get a weight loss injection and micro dose it?

Trouble I have had when trying to 'cut down' is feeling hungry all the time. Then if I don't eat when I feel hungry, I end up getting headaches.

I can relate to so much of what you have said.

You could copy your post on that thread (it's full of people who understand the challenges we have when we're petite and can relate to the fact that every extra pound really shows!).
