Was this ok as a late night snack

I’m trying to lose weight. I’ve done a 35 minutes cardio workout, and then 10k steps today according to my phone.
Today I had porridge with honey, lunch was a 400g Tesco finest ready made cottage pie, nothing on the side
Dinner was home made fish pie, nothing on the side.
I couldn’t sleep without feeling full so I’ve just had a spinach and tomato omelette with green beans on the side and yogurt with banana.
my question is will the snacking, although healthy, undo the exercise I have done and prevent me from losing weight? I know it’s better than not exercising at all but I still need a deficit.
does losing weight mean feeling hungry?

It’s not about ‘undoing’ the exercise, but no one needs a nighttime snack. What you had was a full meal.
So yes, you will continue to put on weight if you’re eating four full meals each day.

Well you can lose weight eating anything if you remain in a calorie deficit. I don’t think you really maximised the food options that you did eat though. In your situation I would have had the omelette at lunch ( maybe with extra egg whites added) and the green beans, afternoon snack of yoghurt and berries and then one of the pies with extra veg. That could have saved 500 calories depending on how calorific the pies were. I wouldn’t worry about it now though - I’d maybe look at averaging out my calories over the week rather than obsessing over one day.

I will try that tomorrow. I don’t have another ready meal but I’ve got batch cooking in the freezer so I’ll have an omelette for lunch then something out the freezer with veg and fruit and yoghurt for a snack

Oh that reminds me I’ve got a Tesco finest macaroni cheese in the fridge with a use by of the 27th but it’s 700 calories so I don’t really want to. I will freeze it

weight loss does not always equal hunger. Yes you need to be in a deficit of calories or you won't loose weight. Better food choices within your calories for the day will help you eat more food volume for fewer calories. Do you track your intake on something like nutracheck?

Ready meals are laden with calories. You'd do much better eating the omelette and veg meal twice a day, with porridge for breakfast. Or a salad with some chicken/tofu/pulses )whatever type of protein you like) mixed with a selection of veg/salad for lunch or dinner.

Exercise is to build muscle, not burn calories.

@DetestTheClockChange not everyone celebrates Christmas.
OP log all your calories in an app like My Fitness Pal. Ignore exercise calories - do not deduct them from you total.
Ready meals are not the best, but at least the calories are there. Weigh out your ingredients when you home cook - that omelette meal (it wasn't a snack) could be 400-800 calories depending on amount and how you cooked it.
Up your protein it will keep you fuller longer.
