I'm probably about 3 stone overweight if not a bit more. Have been overweight now for about 8 years. I'm a real emotional eater with biggest triggers being loneliness, boredom, stress and sadness. On antidepressants which increase my appetite. Thyroid issue. Suspect may have a sugar addiction. I've done slimming world a few times and it worked but I struggle to maintain it and the weight creeps back on. I hate exercise, I have to really force myself. I just don't know what diet to try in the new year. Any suggestions/hints/tips welcome. Thank you x

I really feel for you, my daughter is on antidepressants and the weight gain is so unfair. I’ve found intermittent fasting to be the easiest to follow, it’s easy and successful. I’m really happy with it, the first couple of weeks can be difficult but persevere it’s well worth it, I’ve managed to shift all the weight I gained with menopause 🤗

I actually found that changing my eating for life rather than dieting is what has helped the most (and also maintain).
I started by trying intermittent fasting to help with gastric symptoms and then started documenting my diet in order to realise what i was consuming. It helped to make me think do I really need xxx with 300 calories. I went from a 14/16 to a 6 by doing this after years of failure. I still eat the same as the family but I'm more aware of portion sizes. I calorie count over a week so I never fail because if I overeat one day I can be stricter another day. It's about finding what fits in with your life.

Another successful perimeno weightloser here. IF is great for automating food choices and setting hard stops to address constant eating. Sugar is also very good at creating false appetites; giving it up for a month could be a useful start and will facilitate sticking to any dietary regime thereafter.
