I have been trying to loose weight for way too long and no matter how much I work out I just end up eating again so the only way now I would be able to loose weight is completely removing food for a while so I wanted to ask if anyone has done any kind of extreme diet through nhs because even though I don't eat I want to have my nutrients becuse I know without them it feels horrible and vitamins are expensive so if I could go on a water diet through nhs I will have both medical supervision and vitamins.

Many people water fast. It's actually really good for you. Fasting in general is very healing for the body, and you lose a few pounds while you're at it.

I read a book called 'The Transformative Power of Fasting'. It's science based and very interesting.

I do weekly long water only fasts. Works for me. Not though NHS though. I range from 48 hours up to 5 days. I feel amazing but I use electrolytes too.

Read some decent books on water fasting by DR Jason Fung.

That's great. How often do you donthem? I did one once but haven't worked up the willpower to do it again.

Did you experience a spiritual shift?

This thread is bonkers and should be ignored until it's removed

@Claraandkip

A much better option would be to ask your GP about a referral to the local NHS Dietitians, OP.

For the love of God, you lose weight not loose it. Why do people keep spelling it wrong?

Wishfives · 17/11/2024 00:08

Yeah @Runsyd that's the most worrying thing about this thread.....
Misspelling not misinformation

Not eating is bonkers. Cut back on carbs and eat more protein if you want to lose a bit of weight. You should be drinking 2-3 litres of water everyday anyway.

goldenshred · 17/11/2024 00:47

No. But as a previous poster said, it would need to be talked through with your gp first.

Can I just say, read what you have written

You have tried diets, regained the weight

Now you want to remove food? Seriously what do you think is going to happen?

Sweetheart, there is millions of us struggling with our weight , food is a necessity, its also a comfort, its a reward, its just about everything to us over eaters

Cutting it for a few weeks, the minute you go back to food, the weight will come back. Thats the pure hard truth

ALL DIETS FAIL BECAUSE THE DAY YOU STOP YOU ARE BACK TO SQUARE ONE

Im going to say get your arris to either SW or WW and stop thinking of it as a Diet and think of it as a life time commitment. Yes you will lose weight following their plans, but whilst you are paying, stay and learn what the skinny ones are doing to stay skinny. Losing is so bloody easy ( even when its not ) , keeping it off is the hard bit. Which is why both SW and WW welcome you as life time members - ie free - to go along for the support and accountability

Im doing SW, I hit target over a year ago. I still go every few weeks, to get weighed, to keep a strict eye on how Im doing myself, th get support and friendship from the group. I cant see myself not going, why should I stop? Its a good fun hour and it keeps me focussed and supported in my battle to change my eating habits forever
